These are the award-winning songs that I've written using
Impulse Tracker.
If you're already familiar with tracker music, just use your favorite program to play my songs. I'm not picky. ;)
If you're new to tracker music, you'll want to download
MODPlug Player.
You'll find it quite easy to use, since it's quite similar to most computerized
CD-playing programs. (To quote Aerosmith, just push play!) Then, scroll down the
page and download my songs, and use MODPlug Player to listen to 'em. That's it!
Want to comment on any of my songs? Just e-mail me

Pop/Light Rock - IT - 919k - released 12/2/2001
Originally an old 4-channel MOD by a tracker named CCB. I didn't even try to
improve on this tune's catchy synth-hook, but everything else about this song got
the full Novus Treatment.
"I was so thrilled to get news of
your new release and I really enjoyed it. I have been somewhat out of touch with the
MOD community, with TiS being down now for some time and a lot going on in my personal
life, you have just reminded me of the joy I have been missing! Thank you so very much.
This just really started my day out with a big smile." -Princess

Fantasy/Light Rock - IT - 149k - released 10/21/1997
A piano ballad with oboe and string harmonies and appropriately emotional drumming. By far the most emotional
piece of music I've ever written, not to mention my most popular song to date.
Used as the first dance at the wedding
of Kim "Mister-X" Kraft and his wife Rachel King.
Played at the funerals of loved ones of two total strangers who found this song on this site.
Audio track on the Interstellar
Harmony CD from Trax In Space.
"Piano symphony of high quality. Novus states that when he composed this song, inspiration came from some
divine source, and I must say, regardless of my own beliefs, it's hard to object." -Anders Akerheden
"Having listened to so many mods, there are very few with a permanent home on my computer. Revealing
is one of about 5." -Zola
"What beauty, what sweetness, what an emotionally-charged,
gut-wrenching, tear-streaming track!" -Azo

Fantasy/Light Rock - IT - 2551k - released 9/30/1999
A soft New Age/ballad hybrid with elements of light rock. If the
file size seems too large, try the 8-Bit Mix below.
"Creativity? This song takes it to another dimension. Richly composed, using a lot of variations.
Repetitive? Definently not! Melody gets really soft, beautiful at those final patterns. Makes you want
more." -Hanhisuanto
"You would easily be forgiven for getting confused and thinking you were listening to an MP3...
it's a large file but it's definitely worth the effort to download." -Evil Jimi
"Almost impeccable!" -Sylem

Fantasy/Light Rock - IT - 488k - released 3/19/2000
This smaller version of "Beacon" has 8-bit samples and lacks the sound effects and whispered vocals
from the larger version. If you try the 8-bit version and like it, I strongly suggest you try out the 16-bit
version. I guarantee you'll find it to be superior. ;)
"This is one of the absolute top tracks I've heard in this genre."
-Avelorn

Dance/Pop - IT - 330k - released 2/14/1998
My original version of this song needed some work, so I
remixed it because of suggestions from Leviathan. (Yes, THAT Leviathan!) This is the result. :) It's a piano-based,
fast-paced dance tune; think Robert Miles with actual piano CHORDS, more complex drumming, more complex
chord progressions, and a happier sound.
"Just plain enjoyable to listen to." -Warrior Bob
"I was really impressed with the clean panning effects and the crisp and well constructed piano melodies.
I can tell a lot of theory went into this. Great song... Great work!" -Dave Folkerson

Light Rock/Pop - S3M - 140k - released 7/29/1997
A soaring oboe melody backed up by an interesting piano theme.
"This song is good, and I don't even like much this kind of music!"
-The Nuke
|
Fantasy/Orchestral - S3M - 216k - released 9/16/1997
A three-part orchestral song inspired by the voyage of the Titanic and a complete re-do of my earlier song
"The Titanic." This was written way before the Titanic movie came out, and they are not connected in any way.
"You can almost imagine yourself in the ship. This is a very creative piece of work."
-The Nuke
|
Dance/Pop - IT - 300k - released 12/31/1997
The original version. Not nearly as good as the "Shining Mix," but some people
like it better for some reason.
|
Dance/Pop - IT - 155k - released 10/26/1997
A much livlier version of my very first song.
"Novus has again proved that he is a very skillful tracker with many styles."
-The Nuke
|
Pop/Light Rock - S3M - 143k - released 7/2/1997
Remix of Masquerade (49k), an
old 4-voice MOD done by Blaizer of Defrens. I think I made it sound a bit better. Who says there's no life
in old music? :)

Old Releases

I've dropped my first five songs from this homepage. I used to offer to e-mail them to anyone who asked,
but I've changed my mind. Nobody's ever said they liked them, and it's not worth the effort to dig them up
and send them to you. Just content yourself with the knowledge that you're not missing much...
"Reflections: Snow Mix" - A soft remix of my first song, with better samples.
"Steadfast" - My first attempt at a dance song, although it didn't come out too well.
"Commutare" - This song is only for those who love pain. I will not let you hear this one.
It is absolutely pathetic.
"The Titanic" - Repetitive melody, annoying samples, boring drums... ah, those were the days. :)
"Reflections" - Well, at least the melody is good...
