Packed with scads of challenging competitions and even an option to tag-team with a friend, Pokémon Stadium is a pure delight for all Pokémon fans.
The tournaments held in the Stadium follow four very distinct sets of rules. Strategy is the key to winning the Pika Cup, which allows no Pokémon with a level exceeding 20. The Petit Cup only allows smaller, unevolved Pokémon with a top level of 30. | |
Poké Cup Pokémon can have a maximum level of 55, while there are no level limits in Prime Cup. Both these cups are further divided into four subtournaments, called Balls, with eight battles each.

High on a hill outside of town stands the grim and foreboding Gym Leader Castle. Here, eight supremely confident Gym Leaders and their minions are itching to take on all comers. |
After you've battled through the gauntlet of leaders and trainers to reach the top of the mysterious castle, you'll discover that your challenges are just beginning.

No matter which cup or gym you enter, your rivals will only get tougher and tougher. You can use the Pokémon that come with your Game Pak, but defeating the toughest competitors will almost certainly require Pokémon that you've built up yourself on your Game Boy game. |
Hone your combat skills or just have fun playing with or against your friends in the Free Battle. When cooperating with a friend, be sure to pick a well-balanced team of six Pokémon.

Conquer all the cups and the Gym Leader Castle and you'll enter the much, much tougher Round 2. Train your Pokémon to be the very best they can be before trying Pokémon Stadium's night life. |
