If you'll have lot of model cars on your layout (e.g. car transporter-train), you will need to pay out a lot of money. In such a case the inventive modeler resorts to self-made to get it cheaper.

The first thing to do is to make the silicon-form. (e.g. from tile-pointing material). It's suggested to dunk the basic form in cooking-oil or to spray it with baby powder in order to be able to separate it from the silicon.

Let the form harden at least 3 days. Mix the model gypsum to a mildly liquid consistency, then pour it into the form. After the gypsum solidifies, remove the form carefully. It is possible to produce as many model vehicles as you wish.

After the full solidification of gypsum, a mini-drill and milling machine is needed to cut out the fenders. In order to get the model car lighter, you should make a hole into the car's bottom.

The next phase is to smooth the surface of the model to get as smooth a surface as possible. This is the prerequisite for clear and even painting. The windows can be imitated with black paint. When somebody has tranquil hands, they can mill out the windows. But be careful: the small pillars brake very easily!

Glue the mass produced or self made (e.g. from cardboard) wheels into their proper places. After this paint the bumpers, the lights and the indicators - and our gypsum model is ready.

If you want to spare yourself the milling and painting process, you can cover the models with painted aluminum foil, as with a linen-garage.
