A few quick descriptions of new structures. Some of them I labeled incorrectly in the
media section so I have straightened that out and they should all be matched with the
corresponding picture.
The Alliance
Citadel- The new version of the citadel is just as deadly as
its predecessor but with a new skin. The internal view is also impressive but isn't much
different from the previous version. This structure allows you to claim your base and must
be purchased to allow other structures to be built in a hotzone (a plot of land which can
be used to capture energy on or around which all structures are built). It also protects
your structures with a shield which makes them near impervious to most light attacks. Its
turret swivels letting out bursts of energy which are incredibly powerful. It is your main
base defense and is capable of taking out full waves of enemy ground troops by itself.
Sam Site- I am not sure which version of the sam site this is
but I imagine it is the basic model due to the way it looks. I believe the anti-ballistic
missile versions will be much larger. This structure will launch salvos of missiles at
incoming AAV's and bombers with deadly accuracy. It fires guided missiles which fly at
high speeds towards their targets.
Kri'isaran Horde
Alien Citadel- I got a glimpse of these as John Eberhardt
blew them up at E3. Much like your citadel the aliens must have these in place to
build on a hotzone. They are very hard to remove due to their strong armor but once
removed the other structures are easier to kill due to the loss of the protective shield
it provides. They are your worst enemy and if ignored too long will knock large holes in
your armor in a single burst. The two towers in the back of this picture are the
citadels
Alien Turret- They are larger than ever and they promise to
impress. These are most likely the alien heavy turrets due to their size. They provide
quite a punch for their relatively docile appearance. In the original they were extremely
powerful but slow to turn and had relatively short range.
Alien Power Transfer Facility- Although I don't have a
picture I will describe it. It is a short, square, gray structure about the height of the
Wraith. It has a large square grinding weight held above it by a series of poles. This
weight moves up and down as it collects power. It is also accompanied by the large sand
worm which if destroyed hampers its ability to collect power. The sand worm is about the
length of the Wraith with a tubular body that narrows toward the end. It also has a row of
spikes running down it's back the you see when it crests at the surface of the ground.
This is the most crucial building to the enemy since if it is destroyed you cut off the
power they have.
I DON'T KNOW!
The Mystery Structure- I still have no idea what this is. If
anybody knows or wants to take a shot at guessing, e-mail me, but for now it stays in the I DON'T KNOW! section of the structures page.
