2000

  • 01.01- Spent New Year's working until 3 a.m.
  • 01.01- Jessi and I went to see "The Philadelphia Story" at the Egyptian at 3:30 a.m. New Year's Day
  • 01.01 to 01.08 - Moved into new home on Lucky Drive with roommate and fellow Statesman copy editor John Gardner
  • 01.09 - Jessi and I agree to date after many months of spending time together on neo-dates, including "The Nutcracker"
  • 01.11 - first kiss, while watching "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999 version)
  • 01.19 - attended MLK Jr. Celebration dinner at BSU
  • 01.21- John and Mike dragged me to a Megadeth concert ... Let's just say quarts of cheap beer and $1.50 chorizos aren't good bedfellows :@, especially at Mike's house.
  • 01.?? + a couple days - I bring Mike and Ann a plate of make-up brownies. They liked them. All was forgiven.
  • 01.30 - A sportswriter and part-time copy editor, Stephen Dodge, committed suicide. Paper in shock for days. His memorial service a few days later was as inspiring as it was sad.
  • 02.01- Trying to remember ...
  • 02.-- - Started watching too much TV (hooked on "X-Files" and "Millennium" repeats on FX.
  • 02.-- - Finally started working out again, this time at 24-Hour Fitness.
  • 03.01- One year at the Statesman!
  • 03.03- Turned in my review
    (biting my nails).
  • 03.04- Jessi and I went to Bonneville, hoping to catch a hot springs, but there was too much snow, so we went on a one-day road trip. We looped up Idaho 55 to Banks where we had breakfast at the little cafe on the river, then drove to Lowman, then past Bonneville and to Stanley. We hunted for some local hot springs there, but found nothing. So we skipped down to Sun Valley/Ketchum area and visited the Elkhorn Lodge. Thought about ice skating, but bagged it for some chocolate instead. Drove back to Boise through Fairfield.
  • 03.05- Jessi helped me do laundry and found out the truth about me (I hate, repeat, hate laundry). She was a sport, though.
  • 03.07- Endured the idiocy of Super Tuesday. Caucuses are dumb (from a copy editor's POV).
  • 03.-- - Trying to set up climb at City of Rocks, or just anything. Patrick's busy with Denali training.
  • 03.-- stopped keeping my journal
  • 06.00 - named online content editor
  • later that year - named employee of the month
  • later that year - named employee of the quarter
