On Macs/Netscape
(eight-three-o1, statesman)

Tired of that old photo of me looking cheesy and wanting a G4 ... well, I've had one for nearly a year and I'm now a PC guy. Not just cuz the Mac has issues, but because the PC has come a long ways, baby. Plus, I can no longer deny the dominance of Microsoft and the platforms designed to run its programs. Audio and video online are designed for the PC, not the Mac. Sure, if you're a diehard you still can use the Mac (and I do), but for specific tasks, not general computing. Therefore ... if this site sucks on your Mac -- and especially if you're still using old Netscape -- I'm sorry. Write those companies and ask them to improve their products.

Update 12.11.01

I downloaded Netscape 6.0. It took about 20 minutes to download and install. IE took about 5 minutes. Opera about 7 minutes.

Netscape still doesn't get it. It takes too long to download and install, is way too busy when you open it and forces a lot of crap onto your computer. Something was trying to take over my audio downloads/streams ... turns out it was WinAmp which comes with Netscape. I removed it.

I'll use Netscape as a testing app only.
