Scene Summary
Scene 1
Characters: Benvolio, Mercutio, Tybalt, Romeo, citizen, Prince, Montague, Lady Capulet
Mercutio and Benvolio are out and they are about to go home. Tybalt comes and is mad and looking for Romeo. Romeo comes and then Mercutio gets in a fight with tybalt. Romeo trys to stop but Tybalt stabs Mercutio and kills him. Romeo is mad and starts to fight Tybalt. He kills him as revenge. The prince comes and banishs Romeo from Verona.
Scene 2
Characters: Juliet and Nurse
Juliet is in the garden thinking of Romeo. The Nurse comes in and tells her that Tybalt was killed and that Romeo killed him, also that he was banished from Verona. Juliet is heartbroken but she doesn't turn on Romeo for killing her cousin.
Scene 3
Characters: Friar, Romeo, Nurse
The Friar and Romeo are talking about what Romeo will do. He is very sad and angry about tha banisment and says that he would rather die. The Nurse comes in and tells Romeo about Juliet and gives him a ring from Juliet.
Scene 4
Characters: Capulet, Paris, Lady Capulet
Capulet is telling Paris about Tybalts death and that Juliet is really sad. They decied to have the marriage that Thursday so that it will give people enough time to mourn and then it will be a happy time. Juliet still doesn't know about the marriage.
Scene 5
Characters: Juliet, Romeo, Nurse, Lady Capulet, Capulet
Juliet and Romeo meet in the garden for what they think will be the last time. The Nurse worns Juliet that her parents are coming. Quickly Romeo leaves but not without saying goodbye. Lady Capulet talk to Juliet about Tybalt. Then Capulet tells her about the wedding plans. Juliet objects then tells them she is married to Romeo. Capulet says if she doesn't marry Paris she will be banned from the house.
