In case you haven't heard... in 1999 the FBI started investigations of spying for China by Wen Ho Lee, a Los Alamos scientist. Although most of the claims have proven unsubstantiated, his plight goes on largely out of the media spotlight. Are we against witnessing a case of bureaucratic racism? This indeed seems very similar to a "Red Scare" where government officials are on the lookout for American Citizens who are of a particular ethnic heritage. Examples of this are Arab Americans being harassed because of the U.S. conflicts with Arab countries; Japanese Americans being interned during WWII because of their ties to Japan.
