The Pipes

The Pipe is our Alter in the Wilderness, and our Church. To carve Pipes is a Sacred Act, as there is more to it than simpley forming stone and wood. All of the Pipes I carve are Intended for a sacred use and are made with due reverance in a Ceremonial and Sacred Way. To hold   a Pipe is to take on a Duty, one for the Self and the People, and it should be respected, not as an object, but as a Living Being.

According to the Oral Traditions extant within the Culture of my Clan, "Wild Potato", which is one of the two Spirit Clans of my People, The Pipe was introduced to the Bear Clan by the Spirit-Beings we know as Bird-Men, who schooled us in the Art of working Stone for this purpose. We look back on that Tradition, today, as we work Stone into a functional Pipe.

There is a small faction of people within the Native Cultures of America who look upon selling Pipes as a sacrilege because Money is exchanged. It should be understood that where, Food, Clothing, and Transportation, (in the form of Horses), were once the Standard of Trade in America, Money has replaced these. We now "buy" the necessities with this Standard, rather than exchange them directly in Trade.  At this point, I have enough Horses (38-head), and selling Art is one of the ways I pay the feed bills and the Vet. A portion of the proceeds from Sales on this site also go to help us build the "North Davidson Center for Equine-Assisted Therapy", which is sorely needed in this area of the country and will help a whole lot of people to recover from physical and mental problems.

Each Pipe sold will come with istructions in its use and care, and our history and traditions about it.  The Pay-Pal link provided takes you to the Pay-Pal Secure Server. We have chosen the Pay-Pal System to insure your Privacy and Security in on-line transactions, which is formidable, and because of its ease of use.
