Research on Beijing Urban Traffic Geographic Information System (1994-1996). The project was supported by State Committee of Sciences and Technology. It was a multimedia GIS running on the Arc/Info platform, which was written with ARC Macro Language (AML). My main work was the design and implementation of traffic congestion dispersal model, emergency disposal model and route optimization model.
Research on Environmental Monitoring Information System of Jinshangmeng Mining Area (1995-1996). The project was supported by a joint grant from Huaneng Mining Co. and State Committee of Sciences and Technology. My main work was simulation of the environmental evolution with programs written in AML. The environmental changes was listed as the following: Expansion and distribution of mine field. Evolution of Wulanmulun river and its riverbed. Changes of the forest or woodland in mine field Changes of the cultivated land in mine field
Research On Distributed Information System for Poverty-alleviation Project Management and Monitoring (1996-1998). The project, supported by a grant from Poverty-aid Office of State Council, concerns the horizontal flow of poverty-alleviation projects information among organizations and the vertical dissemination within an organization. In fact, it is a integration of web GIS and DataBase that not only handles spatial data and census data in poor-areas, but also shares them on a Intranet platform. Prof. Cao and I are in charge of the design of the whole project. My main task is the design and implementation of web GIS that is a client/server framework consisting of an java applets(client) and an java application(server). Their functions include ZIP file compression and transmission, remote directory service, access to relational database with JDBC/ODBC, spatial data visualization, graphic zoom and pan operation, and a two-way query between graphic object and database record.
In addition, I am familiar with HTML4.0 and CGI1.1 specification and have much experiences with Java1.1 and C/C++.
