Endless days and sleepless nights
Hours drag past in such confusion.
The sun sets, the moon rises;
It all seems but an illusion.

The clock ticking loudly there
Mocking me with each minute passing.
Seems louder in the dark of night
The sound of it harrassing.

To capture a moment in time to adjust
My mind I need to clear
So that I can return to you
With only love and not fear.

Fear creeps in late at night
And I find it paralyzing
To lay in bed and think
and then I start analyzing.

A road well-traveled and well-known
I have been this way before
This time I know when I depart
It will be forever more.

A step off of the beaten path
Will find me on new ground.
But the thought of leaving now
Makes my heavy heart pound.

So I lay awake endless nights
Mapping out my life
Trying to find one of hope
And not of endless strife.
