I had a perfect love,
As perfect as love can be,
But I gave it up to find someone else,
That someone was me.

I wanted to find happiness
To enjoy, to feel, to see
All I found was loneliness for someone
That someone was me.

As I sit alone
and weep so silently
I remember the love that someone had
That someone was me.

I had a perfect love,
As perfect as love can be
And in my search I found someone unhappy
That someone is me.

My heart feels heavy
And a way out I cannot see
Someone wasn't meant to live life
That someone is me.

I am searching for myself
And myself I cannot see
Someone is standing in my way and
That someone is me.
