THE EYES OF GOD

I felt the breath of God the day

He filled my lungs with air, to pray;

And kneel to pray, in gratitude,

I did, with Holy Atitude.

Then entered Sin into the camp.

doused the flame of this poor lamp,

I felt the breath of God once more,

in anger, as He slammed the door.

I felt the Hand of God one day,

when first He pulled me from the clay,

Gave Eden's beauty to my care,

And blessed me in the Garden there.

Then sin did throw the Garden o'er,

Beauty to Ash, my heart was tor',

Did sweat my brow in anger, He,

and thorn did make to humble me.

I felt the Eyes of God one day,

when first I looked, to homage pay,

In love and honor, 'pon His Glory,

As I lived the first love story.

Then Sin did strike this Pure Soul blind,

I staggered at the fetters bind,

For sin doth grasp, and bind, and hold,

and makes the young man broken, old.

Then God did send His Son, the best,

to call me back, to "home," to "rest,"

His breath was calling, His hand was beck'ning,

His Eye was calling me to "reckoning."

And from His Breath so purely sweet,

I heard His voice as He did greet,

All the lost and sinful ones,

Adopted now, to be His sons.

And into His hand, so great and strong,

I humbly placed forgiven wrong,

Forgive He did, and brought me back,

I have it all, and nothing lack.

And In His eye, through loves gaze tender,

looks upon my unconditional surrender,

Enfolds me in His sweet embrace,

And pours upon me, Endless grace.
