Velvet Box
Victory

Velvet Box

Pictures of you and me when we were young

Letters from lovers I never showed a soul

Perfumes I never dared to wear

Thoughts I never said aloud to you

Me and you walking on the beach.

Trodding the same old paths

talking the same old way

Memories I stowed away in the cushioned

cube hidden with my negligee

Victory

Sweet amends

I do trothe thee

I see you wandering beside me,

Aimlessly.

Surfacing, my love

I do dote upon thee

You see me, take me by the

Hand.

Caressed by you

Another touch,

Another guide.

I wish to hold you once again.

You claimed me

And I'm yours by right

Without you knowing

I staked my claim in you

Victory!

We shall find out who won

Against the other

Sweet playfellow

Bedtime friend

Sweet amends.
