The Angels (Shitou, better translated as 'disciples') are attacking Tokyo-3, and causing plenty of trouble, and making the Japanese national debt bigger, and bigger. There was 17 Angels, I don't know a thing about the second one, and the 17th one is a huge spoiler that will ruin the whole show if I tell you anything other than it's name, so I won't. You can always Mail me if you REALLY want a really cool show completely RUNIED, like it was for me (sob, sob :( ) But anyway. I'm working on getting pictures of the rest of the Angels (my bookmarks got deleted, otherwise it wouldn't be a problem). So that will be up soon.

Adam was the first Angel that appeared at the South Pole, and caused the Second Impact.

Sachiel



'Angel of Water' The third Angel, Sachiel (Sa-kee-il) was the first to attack Tokyo-3. This attack was the first time an Evangelion was used in combat. Sachiel was destroyed when it wrapped itself around Unit-01 and self destructed, trying to destroy the Eva. Of course it didn't because then the series would have been one episode long. But I'm sure you guessed that.

'Angel of Day'









Ramiel



'Angel of Thunder' The 5th Angel was diamond shaped, and tried to drill it's way into NERV headquarters. It almost destroyed Unit-01 as it was being deployed, with it's energy beam. Misato's plan to destroy Ramiel was to use a heavy positron rifle, but to power it, they had to use ALL of the power in Japan! The first shot was deflected with Ramiel's beam, and a bit of panic ensued while they waited for the rifle to cool and for Shinji to complete the 8,000,000 or so steps to reload, but the second shot hit, and all the while poor Rei and her Unit-00 were shielding Shinji from the beam with a huge heat shield, that only worked for so long. (Meaning, Unit-00's armor was melted, so they had to replace it, and now Unit-00 is blue instead of orange. But blue is a better color, so that's ok.)

Gaghiel


'Angel of Fish' The 6th Angel attacked the fleet acting as an escort for Eva-02, being delivered to NERV, along with it's pilot, Asuka. It took sinking two battleships, into its mouth, to destroy it.

Israfel


'Angel of Music' (You'll get the music part, once you see ep. 9 'Both of you, dance like you want to win!') Israfel, the 7th Angel, turned into 2 Angels, after Asuka, trying to show off, cut it in half. An N2 Mine bought some time, while Shinji and Asuka synchronized an attack to music, and destroyed both halves at the same time.

Sandalphon


'Angel of Embryos' The 8th Angel was discovered in a pit of magma, in its embryo form. NERV wanted to capture and study it, so Unit-02 was fitted with 'D-type' equipment (a diving suit for really high temperatures) and sent in with a cage to put the angel in. The depth was more than they originally thought it was, and one of the coolant pipes on Unit-02 burst from the pressure. After Asuka captured it, the embryo matured into Sandalphon, and Asuka had to kill it. Conviniently, Asuka had made fun of Shinji earlier in the day for not understanding his physics homework about thermal expansion (hot things expand, cold things shrink). Remembering this, she shoved the burst coolant pipe into Sandalphon and it... shrank and died or something.

Matarael


'Angel of Rain' The 9th Angel tried to burn it's way into NERV Headquarters using acid, but all three pilots actually managed to work together to destroy Matarael.

Sahaquiel


'Angel of Sky' The 10th Angel used parts of itself as bombs, trying to hit NERV HQ. After bombing a few times and correcting it's aim, it threw itself down as a bomb. It was destroyed when the 3 Eva spread thier AT Fields to keep it from hitting the ground, and Unit-01 destroyed it's core.

Iruel


'Angel of Fear' The 11th Angels body had no substance, instead it took control of other objects, such as the MAGI supercomputers. Luckily, Akagi Ritsuko was able to save Balthasar, Melchior, and Gaspar from infiltration.

Leliel



'Angel of Night' The 12th Angel is a scary looking black and white striped ball. The actual Angel is the shadow underneath, a Sea of Dirac, created with an inverted AT Field. Only a few microns thick, and only describable with abstract mathematics, a Sea of Dirac is believed to be connected to another dimension. Unit-01 was sucked into the Dirac Sea, and was stuck there for about 14 hours, Shinji went a little bit insane during that time, and then Unit-01 went beserk, and tore it's way out of the Angel.

Bardiel


Bardiel, the 13th Angel, infiltrated Eva-03, during it's transport to the Matsuhiro test site. During the activation test, it destroyed the site, then Eva Units 00 and 02, which were sent to destroy it. It was defeated when the dummy plug or Unit-01 was activated, and subsequently destroyed Bardiel.

Zeruel


'Angel of Might' The 14th Angel, was the closest to accomplishing it's mission. It's arms extend, and are sharp enough to cut of Unit-02's arms and head, and one of Unit-01's arms. Zeruel's eyes can fire beams, which damaged 18 layers of NERV's shielding in one (!?) blast. Unit-00 tried to destroy Zeruel, by taking an N2-mine and trying to shove it through Zeruel AT-Field, but was unsuccessful. Zeruel was finally destroyed when Unit-01 went beserk, and destroyed it. The 14th angel was the source for Unit-01's S2 Engine.

Arael



'Angel of the Birds' The 15 Angel appeared in space, where no weapons could reach it. They were forced to use the Lancea Longini (Spear of Longinus). Rei in Eva-00 threw the Spear, and destroyed the Angel.

Armisael


'Angel of the Womb' the 16th Angel was like a ring of energy. It got inside Unit-00, and tried to penetrate Unit-01, but Rei set her Eva on self-destruct, and destroyed Armisael.

Tabris


This is the Angel I won't tell you anything about, because it'll ruin the show if you don't already know, and if you already know, you probably wouldn't be reading this, would you?
