Dear Carol & Stina, I stumbled on your site while surfing the web the other day and must tell youthat your story filled me with such joy and happiness for the both of you!!And I can't forget admiration!!!I admire your courage and strength in nurturing a love across soooooo manymiles!! I understand that feeling because I have a similar story. Although, I found my true love on the Internet, too, she wasn't several continents away!! We both live in Florida -- me in Daytona Beach and her in Fort Lauderdale ...a mere 3-hour drive that sometimes seems like light years!! Given the shortdriving distance, we have been together every weekend for the past six months. In just a couple more weeks, Tina will be moving to Daytona Beach and we alsowill begin our "happily ever after" lives!!! Like you, we fell in love on the Internet ...
we were both members of AOL and"chatted" every night ... sometimes all night ...
for a couple of weeks beforespeaking to each other on the phone. When I read your logs
that you posted on your page, they were so familiar toour own. The shyness and then the
joy in finding out you both felt the sameway about each other, but didn't know how to
express it for fear offrightening the other away, was exactly how it happened for Tina and
I. And then your description of how you felt when you first met and were alonetogether for
the first time was the exact same happiness and ecstasy I feltwhen I first held Tina and
finally felt her body against mine!! I laughed out loud when I read how Stina's look of
confidence and joy turnedto a sternful frown and why it did so!! That, too, happened to
us!!! But it happened before we met. I got my period a few days before our big day and
Tina called me at work before I left for Fort Lauderdale to meet her to tell me that she
had just gotten her's too!!! She was so disappointed that I think she was crying when she
told me!! (She would never admit this!) I laughed and told her we would still manage to
get to know each other ... there was no need to fret!! Tina just landed herself a new job
in Daytona Beach -- she is the senior vicepresident of finance for a company. We decided
she would relocate because, at the time, I had the better job with benefits and a pension
that was too good to give up. I am publisher/editor-in- chief of an association magazine
-- a real cushy job!! We are constantly pinching ourselves to make sure we aren'tdreaming!!! Tina goes around mumbling that she can't believe it's true and I tell her that nice things happen to nice people!!! It's funny how our relationship evolved. Neither of us were looking for arelationship -- much less a long term one. I was chatting on AOL one nightwith some AOL buddies and Tina was checking out the member list of Floridalesbians who like to golf. The way she tells it, she saw my profile and that Iwas online and decided because I lived in central Florida, I was far enough away for her to be "safe" and flirt a little. It wasn't long after we started our nightly chats that I suggested we shouldmeet. She was "speechless," and didn't know how that could be done because "we didn't exactly live around the corner from each other!" It took me a couple of weeks to convince her that 3 hours was nothing and I could be down there before dark if I left after work on a Friday. It turned out to be a Thursdaynight -- she set the date, which was a month away!! And it was the longestdamn month of my life!!! Tina said she was determined to teach me patience!!!We spent the Fourth of July weekend together -- three wonderful days andnights with plenty of fireworks!!!!! ;-) And the rest is history ...We have grown closer and fallen in love deeper with each passing day. It's alove I never imagined existed, although read about in novels. I am theromantic in our relationship -- Tina is the realist, which you could haveguessed from our professions. Tina deals with the cold, hard numbers of managing the finances of a business; while I string words together all day tomake them sing and excite the reader's imagination!!! We like to say that itis true -- opposites really are attracted to each other!!! It's funny ... friends of mine were totally against my going to FortLauderdale to meet Tina. They were afraid for me, warning that too many peopleturned up "murdered" after meeting their Internet romances. I told them theywere reading too many supermarket tabloids!!! But I had to promise them that Iwould call as soon as I arrived at Tina's house!! Thanks for putting your story on the web. It was extremely uplifting to readsuch a happy story! Gina and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!!! Thanks again, Mindy |
