This was the halfling that was invading his thoughts.

As he stood backstage, Undertaker watched this match with special interest.
The girl was posed against Sable, in which Sable was
already trying to upstage the newcomer to the federation.
Soon..she will be mine... He thought wickedly.

Cat felt the adrenaline high from this match as she gasped for air. If can work the
crowd right, I can fill half of my purse and finally be free...
She became impatient as Sable put on a show by gyrating her hips in front
of the fans. The crowd roared as she teased them. Cat grumbled as the woman cast
her a snobbishlook and continued to gyrate.

Suddenly, the crowd's cheers went into a shocked silence.
Cat realized that something was wrong.
She glanced over to the announcer's table first, watching Lawler
and King  punch a few buttons on the interface
check  if whatever caused the silence was part of the show.
Lawler glanced up, then, pointed across to the opposite end of the
arena. Cat followed the announcer's cue and looked over.

Cat's blood froze, as tingles ran down her spine. There, on the rampway,
the Undertaker was slowly making his way towards the ring.
The Undertaker cast a glance at the crowd and then
focused his gaze at Cat.

Cat met his glance, and felt his icy glare...
pierce her soul.

Background

Cruel Ironies is a new fiction with a gritty cyberpunkish tone. The challenge of this fanfiction is that it features, professional wrestling. The basic tone of the story is that after warfare, the US and many other countries went through an essential memory loss. Children and people are sold like animals, and the only way to freedom is through earning it by indentured servitude. Many questions arise however, such as what caused this mass erosion of government. Where do people go when they're free.

There's more characterization, and action, along with a bit of involvement of relationships. To throw in the mix there's the supernatural, and bits of fantasy. What is difficult about the making of Cruel Ironies, is making characters that don't hog up the real stars: the wrestlers.

Will Cruel Ironies work well?
We shall see...
