PHOTO SESSION
The ideal photo session involves many elements. Before the shoot, you should meet with your agent and/or manager to decide what images are being sought. A hair and makeup artist should be consulted. All too often, because of budgetary concerns, clients sacrifice these. With that in mind, here are a few suggestions: |

IMAGE Ultimately, actors should
be themselves. What you wear
greatly affects how you are perceived.
Therefore, it is important to wear clothing that reflects the “image”
you are trying to project. Put
your money where you make your money.
If you look rather “momish” it would not be wise to compete with “Baywatch”
types. Ask your agent, manager
and/or acting coach -- “What is my type?”, “How will I be cast?”. Decide what “looks” you want well in advance
of your session, then dress accordingly for your photos.

CLOTHING Bring as many outfits as
you’d like. I’d rather help you
choose from a variety of clothing rather than settling for a couple of items.
We will choose approximately 3 outfits for the shoot.
Please make sure shirts are pressed and t-shirts are not frayed or
worn out. Bring shoes just in case I include your
feet in the shot. |

HAIR AND MAKEUP Professional hair and makeup
is recommended for women. Rarely
can a client “do their own” and have it look as if it were done professionally.
Makeup for a photo session (even very “natural” looking makeup) is
not what you wear on the street. What
the camera sees is different than what the human eye sees, so professional
hair and makeup artists custom blend their products to enhance the faces of
their clients. Please consult with me regarding makeup
if you will be using your own hair and makeup person. I can recommend a good makeup artist if
you don’t have one. |
