For the second time in a year, we are having a water-related apartment trauma!
A year ago, our upstairs neighbors left their washing machine unattended and it flooded our kitchen. There was mildew and drama and it was nothing short of poop.
We moved from that apartment in September of last year, and all was wonderful until two weeks ago…
Hubby and I arrived home from an evening out to discover that our bedroom was being flooded, through a wall, by a broken pipe on our water heater.
The water heater was repaired the next day, there was some slight carpet drama involving a blower fan… finally we thought all was back to what passes for normal.
No. sorry. 'fraid not.
For the last two weeks the demon mildew has been growing silently and evilly up our bedroom and living room walls. It was cleverly hidden behind our furniture. We noticed it in a few spots last week so we called apartment maintenance, who asked us to move the furniture so they could access the "affected areas". No problem…
Except that every piece of furniture we moved exposed more mildew… each new area worse than the last. Now I know why I have an upper respiratory infection…
I am growing to intensely dislike water :P
Until the repairs and painting are finished, and I can replace all of my stuff, this section is obviously on hold.
