We met Lori and Adam in Chicago. A large group of family and friends flew together to Milan. Adam's dad, Joel, and his wife, Kittie, met us at the airport with a small bus. The trip to Bordighera was beautiful and we passed numerous rice fields (the famous arborio rice used in risotto) in the countryside and greenhouses closer to the coast. This was also our first taste of Italian food. (Although a panini at the Autogrill doesn't rate many mentions in the travel guides.) After checking in the group assembled for cocktails. Jeff's uncle, Mark, and his friend Christine asked us to join them on a drive over to Monte Carlo. It was a long and exciting day!
