"Look at his eyes Jordan, he looks like he was just locked into a toy store." They walked slowly as JJ ran up to the panda exhibit. He smiled and laughed, looking like a the carefree little boy he should be. Jordan smiled and nodded. True to his word he stopped by the house and took them all out to breakfast and now they were at the zoo. He could see the changes in all of them, even Alayna who looked around from the confines of her stroller, once in a while pointing at something clearly interesting to her.

"Yep that's how I like to see my nephew." Jordan hadn't said anything about the previous night. He just let it be, she probably didn't remember anyway, she'd been in such a state. He could barely sleep most of the night. Even though he couldn't say why, he took the blame for her kiss. Now the complete transformation was astounding. She laughed and smiled with the kids, looking more like the mother he was used to her being.

"Mommy, mommy, look an elephant, and people are riding on it!" JJ jumped up and down "Can I mom? Uncle Jordan?" They both laughed knowing there was no way they could say no to those big brown eyes. Jordan went over and brought two tickets handing them both to Katrina.

"No way Jay. You go up there, I'm not to comfortable on the elephant prospect." She pushed both boys towards the line and went to sit down with Alayna.

"Doggy." Alayna pointed at elephant making Katrina laugh.

"No sweetie, ele-" she started to correct her but what good would it do for a year old.

Alayna looked at her confused "Daddy?" She pointed at Jordan. Looking up at Jordan Katrina felt a stab of pain. She dreaded telling her what happened to her father when she gets older. For now she just looked at her adorable daughter. "Yes Layna, Daddy." She didn't think it would do much harm at this point. She took out her video camera and started recording as Jordan and JJ rode past on the elephant. JJ was having the time of his life while Jordan was just trying to hold on. She thought about last night and the kiss. She cringed thinking of what she'd done. She knew it was wrong, Jordan was her brother-in-law for goodness sake, but she couldn't deny the feeling that enveloped her as she pressed her lips to him. He hadn't said a word about it, probably to keep her from embarrassing herself, Kat thought. She was so lost in her thought that she didn't notice Jordan walk up to her.

"Penny for your thoughts?" He was waving his hand in front of her face. She snapped out of her revelry and smiled.

"Got a couple of thousand of them?"

"For you, yes." They continued to walk on "Thinking about Jonathan?"

"No, I'm thinking about the effects driving has on the ozone layer." She laughed at her own sarcasm. "Sorry, just felt like coming out." "Glad to see you got your sense of humor back?as dry as it was." They smiled at each other.

"Hey what can I say? I'm not a comedian?but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night." She threw that one out and Jordan almost doubled over laughing.

"She's back everyone! The angel face we all know and love is back." Jordan put his hands making a mock megaphone and yelled through them sending Katrina to yet another fit of laughter.

"I'm hardly 'back' Jordan." She pulled him back and got a serious look on her face. "I doubt I'll ever be fully back." Jordan was amazed at how she could change moods so quickly and he said as much to her.

"I've been up and down for awhile, you just haven't seen it. Yesterday I was way down." She decided to hint around to what she was thinking "I know I said and did things that I normally wouldn't do." She couldn't look at him when she said that. She stopped at the petting zoo holding JJ's hand.

"Don't worry about it Kat, you were feeling vulnerable, I know." Well it was great that he could analyze her, because she didn't quite think that was it.

"Okay Jordan." She decided to leave it at that. They spent the rest of the day walking around enjoying the kids' excitement. Afterwards Jordan made the suggesting of going to his mom's house for a visit.

"You know she wishes you would come over more. She tells me all the time. You'd think you were her favorite child."

"Well didn't she tell you, after Jonathan I was?" She was in her joking mood again. Jordan drove them up to the house and pretty soon it was a mini reunion as JJ ran up to grandma as soon as she opened the door. Katrina felt guilty for not visiting more, but it was hard for her as she was sure it would be for Marlene.

"Katrina, I'm glad you're here." Marlene hugged her daughter-in-law with her free hand. A new wave of pain crept into her heart as she hugged Marlene back. She couldn't help the tear that escaped from her eye and slid down her cheek. Marlene also was crying.

"I didn't think?.I thought that it would be hard." She hugged Marlene.

"Sweetheart, you are always welcome here, you know that, you are family."

Jordan just watched the exchange from the corner. He held Alayna and it was almost too much for him to see. They all went into the kitchen where the two women talked for a couple of hours. So long that Jordan took JJ out for pizza and video games and came back to find the women still talking, looking over pictures.

"Looks like the ladies have stopped crying." Jordan commented to JJ.

"Shall we go see whats up?" He was heading over to the table as he asked the question.

"Hi honey. We were just looking over old pictures of the family." Marlene said.

"Very old pictures." Katrina noted. She pulled an album over to him "You were such a cute baby Jordan, what happened?"

He playfully swatted her on the head. "I got absolutely gorgeous."

"Tell me about it." Marlene rolled her eyes. "Girls still hang out in front of the house. Jordan why don't you get married so I won't have to deal with this."

"When I find the right woman, you'll be the first to know." He continued looking at the pictures if him and his brothers and sisters. He looked at Katrina who was studying a picture of Jonathan taken when he was about eight. He was standing with a water hose in his land, laughing at whatever someone had just said. They continued looking at pictures for awhile until Katrina announced she had to get the kids to bed, it was after 11:00 p.m. She said goodbye to Marlene promising to visit more often and the kids both got treats and hugs from their grandma. Jordan drove them home and walked them into the house. They put the kids to bed and she walked him back to the door.

"Thanks Jordan. For today, for yesterday. You've been a godsend. I really don't know what I would have done without you."

"Think nothing of it, just another day in the life of your average, but very good looking super hero type."

"Damn, don't be too modest, it may hurt you. And I may have to insult you more. I feel like I'm not doing my job."

"No, you're doing it fine, don't worry about it." He thought for a minute. "How about lunch tomorrow?" They both agreed to a time and place and pretty soon he was on his way back to his house and she was in her bedroom getting ready for yet another lonely night in bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~

"You're falling in love with him Kat!" Suzi said matter-of-factly.

Katrina sat at the outside table of the caf with one of her best friends. It was just one of the extended lunch hours they took just to catch up on things. Since Suzi had become Mrs. Wahlberg, she had been increasingly busy, and Katrina just didn't feel like socializing like she once had. They'd finally made a date to get together, at least for lunch. Now Katrina stared at her friend absorbing the words that were still ringing in her ears.

"What? Get real Suz, it's not that way at all." Even as she said the words she fidgeted. Was it that obvious?

"Oh please, do you even hear yourself? 'All I look forward to is going out with Jordan.' 'You should see him with the kids,' 'I can't have lunch today Jordan and I are going out.' I mean anyone could tell you like the man. I think it's kind of sick." She smiled at her friend to let her know she was kidding. She'd just listened to Katrina go on and on about her life with Jordan and she just had to say it. Suzi wasn't someone who kept things to herself.

"You're obviously trying to read far into something that's not there." She was not ready to admit anything to Suzi, or herself for that matter. "Jordan has been a savior to me, he's just like a big brother."

"Come on Kat, you're 26, he's 28, that big brother thing just doesn't roll anymore." She rolled her eyes "You don't have to admit it, but I can see all through you." Suzi drank her coffee, deciding not to say another word to her friend. This was something she obviously wasn't going to admit.

Katrina sat there stirring her hot chocolate trying to come up with another conversation starter to get them off the subject of Jordan.

"So what are your plans for the weekend? I was thinking maybe you'll want to come over and spend the day with me and the kids."

"Donnie's coming home tomorrow. I can't wait, if we ever come up for air, and out of the bedroom, I may think about coming to see you. But don't hold your breath." Suzi gave her friend a mischievous look.

"Say no more, I can hear the sound of the bed rocking as we speak. Well if you get 'bored' give me a call, I won't be doing much, Jordan's going to be working with Miguel all weekend."

Suzi opened her mouth to again, state the obvious but decided against it. She was arguing a lost battle with her friend. "Well like I said." They finished their lunch and went on to do a little shopping before the two had to head back to work.

"Look, I feel bad that we haven't talked. You think you can convince Donnie to get dressed and bring you to my house for dinner this Sunday?" She smiled at her friend. "Please?"

"That could possibly be arranged, just because you looked so sad standing there begging. Count us in, okay? Now I've got to get back to work or pay the ungodly consequences." They hugged and said their goodbyes before heading back to work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~

Katrina opened the door. "Oh look, it's the horizontal twins." She joked as Donnie gave her the evil eye. "Kidding, kidding. Come on in." They both walked in and found Jordan sitting on the sofa. Suzi gave her frienda quizzical look.

"Stop looking at me like that, it's dinner." Kat whispered back.

"Yeah, but who's getting dessert."

Jordan offered them wine and the evening went smoothly. Suzi looked upon the scene somewhat amazed. You'd think they were married already. They sure entertained like it. She knew upon a shadow of a doubt that these two people were in love, whether they admitted it or not. She kept her mouth shut on the subject all during dinner only bringing it up in the privacy of Donnie's jeep.

"I see what you mean Suz, it was almost like it was Jon there instead of Jordan. Creepy."

"No, not creepy, just love." She turned and looked into Donnie's face. "You can't help who you fall in love with?I fell for you." She solidified her point.

"It wasn't like it was that hard. This is me you're taking about." Donnie laughed at her.

"Oh take me home Romeo." She put her hand between his legs and squeezed and Donnie sped home.

As Donnie and Suzi walked out the door, Jordan cleared the dishes from the table. He was beginning to get very used to that routine. He cleaned the kitchen as best he could and went into the living room.

"Well hon, that was a nice dinner party. What next?" He grinned at her. "I'm in the mood for a game." He proceeded to pick a board game out of the cabinet. "Monopoly? Scrabble? Pictionary?" He continued to look as Katrina tried to get her thoughts together.

Ever since her talk with Suzi she had been anticipating and dreading the moment that the two would be alone. Part of her was ashamed. Ashamed that she could even remotely be interested in her husband's brother. It seemed immoral, and, to put it in Suzi's word "Sick." Still she knew that what she felt for him was very strong. She'd always loved him, he was her best friend, but she saw more in him now. She understood what the thousands of screaming fans did, she wanted to feel his arms around her, to feel the softness of his lips on hers and look into his eyes and see the same love she felt for him. She still was unsure what she was doing, but she knew she couldn't just let this feeling go on, it would kill her.

"Jordan, no games tonight." She perched on the arm of the sofa. Not wanting to look like she was seducing him, but wanting to in every way. "Actually, I thought we could talk."

Jordan turned around and looked at her, once again her beauty overwhelming him. God, if she wasn't his sister-in-law. He walked over and sat on the sofa resisting the urge to pull her down to him. Something had to give, he could hardly stand it anymore, yet he knew couldn't have her. "So what are we talking about."

"I don't know, anything."

"Jonathan?"

"No. Not tonight." They both were aware of the music changing. Vince Gill's voice filled the air along with the soothing sound of a piano.

"You know, I always thought you had weird taste in music." Jordan laughed as he listened to the country song.

"What's so weird about country? Actually it can be quiet soothing and sometimes can say exactly what you want to say." She pulled him up "Let's dance."

Jordan didn't even resist as she pulled him to her. They swayed back and forth to the music. He put his arms around her and pulled her to him and her head found his shoulder. For what seemed like eternity they stayed that way as Vince Gill sang "If you Ever Have Forever in Mind." As the song ended Katrina looked up into Jordan's eyes and her heart took it from there.

Jordan at first tried to resist the delicate kiss that Katrina lay on his lips. His brain said stop but finally his body took over as he kissed her back deeply. The music had changed to a fast dance song, but neither noticed as they held each other tightly not wanting to let go.

Before she knew what she was doing, Katrina was pulling apart the buttons from Jordan's shirt and caressing his chest. Their lips never parted as she slid his shirt off of his shoulders kissing them as the shirt slid. Her lips traveled from his shoulder down his chest causing Jordan to let out a soft moan. All was gone from his mind except that moment. His hands traveled down her back resting on her backside. He pulled her closer to him and kissed her head. She stopped kissing him and looked into his eyes before taking his hand and leading him to the bedroom.
