in the left arm. The arm was amputated on the battlefield. He was then
transfered to the General Hospital in Richmond, VA where he died on 15 Dec
1862. He was a Private in Co. G - 21st Reg't of the Miss. Volunteers. A good
soldier, the records say. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond, Va.
