::sweatdrop:: It's more challenges than contests seeing how I'm a poor 16-year-old who has no means to pay for the Winner's prize...er...winner. There really isn't going to be a winner, either, and there will be several different challenges up all the time to hopefully inspire a muse somewhere. The rules are posted here with all submissions linked off from either this page or another, depending on how crowded it gets. Interested? I hope so. Here's what I've come up with so far, and please, email me the results. (Current Contest Count: 4)

Challenge #1: Songfic
It's as simple and complicated as all that. I'd just like you to write a songfic. ::shrug:: You can use whatever song inspires you. Any type of story can go, as long as there's one of these songs incorporated into it. Keep in mind that my music taste is not the teeny bopper scene, so some of these songs may be about objectionable material. And since I'm such a nice person, I'll even hook you up with the words if you don't know the songs.

Current Selections:
Lenny Kravitz's American Woman
Oh, this will be painfully interesting...
Rob Zombie's Dragula
Probably the only song that won't make you write about a coupling of one form or another.
Tool's Prison Sex
::giggle:: Sorry, I couldn't resist and it's been stuck in my head all day!
Thompson Twins's Hold Me Now
Oh yeah, 80's pop rules the world!
A Perfect Circle's Thinking of You
Why do I think mildly citric stories can come out of this song?
The Door's Touch Me
I'm asking for it, aren't I?
Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply
This one with be asking for fluff or sap, neh?
Korn's Falling Away From Me
It was either this one or another song by the same band called Trash. If you want to do that one, be my guest. It was a toss-up between suicide and rape.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Here you can pick any song, but instead of the songfic, characters act out the song. Please only do this one if you've actually seen the movie.

Challenge #2: Word Limit
Write a story that's exactly 220 words long. Why 220? Well, that the number of Gundam boys (5) times the number of original Gundams excluding Tallgeese (5) plus the year of Operation Meteor (195). It's nice and round for you, too. ^-^ If you're going to make a songfic out of this, the lyrics don't count as part of the limited words, and disclaimer, title, and all that don't count as the 220 allowed words, either. Just the story itself will be counted. Once again, any type of plot, story, poem, whatever can go...as long as it's 220 words long.

Challenge #3: OOC
This story, you may focus on any character or group of characters you wish, but he/she/they have to act completely out of character. Oh, this one should be a riot. It can be as long as you wish with whatever you wish happening in it; just get the characters to act completely different from the way they do officially. They can be stoned out of their minds for all I care, but please no ODing. I hope this one gets a lot of responses because it will be a riot. Like all the others, no rules except for the challenge topic.

Challenge #4: Song Lines
This one is...interesting. I'm simply going to give you 20 random song lines and you have to put every single one, without paraphrasing, in a story. They may go in any order and can be sung, spoken, thought, whispered...whatever. As long as they make half-sense in the context and are included. So, here's what I came up with after endless hours of skimming through CD pamplets. ^-~

~It hurts to set you free, but you'll never follow me.
~This body, this body holding me, be my reminder here that I am not alone in this body, this body holding me, feeling eternal all this pain is an illusion.
~You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never ever choose to be.
~I need a map of your head translated into English so I can learn to not make you frown.
~And after all we're only ordinary men.
~Your eyes tell what you feel inside.
~Luck ain't even lucky.
~There's too much poison and confusion on your face.
~I know it's hard to keep an open heart when even friends seem out to harm you.
~Everyone I know goes away in the end.
~Lately it's scarier not knowing what's become of you.
~So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
~He did the best he could for me.
~I've come to help you with your problems so we can be free.
~He say one and one and one is three.
~Both of us searching for some perfect world we know we'll never find.
~Don't the best of them bleed it out while the rest of them peter out?
~You know that every time I go where I really want to be is already where I am.
~Roll the windows down, this cool night air is curious.
~Is it tomorrow or just the end of time?
