Where did the site title, Escape from Martyrdom, come from?
From basic observations of the series and OVAs, I have come to the conclusion that the Gundam characters are all martyrs. Some of you may say, "Well, duh!" while others, "What's a martyr and where's martyrdom?" I'll appeal to the latter first. A martyr is someone who would rather die or be killed than give up his or her believes or principles. Martyrdom is the state of being a martyr as well as a severe, long-continued suffering or torture. Fits perfectly with the characters, doesn't it? This "escape" from the said martyrdom can be either a mental or physical one. In the sense of this website, it's physical. Escape from Martyrdom is a place where the characters come to chill and try to become halfway "normal" for a little.

How can fictional characters escape to a website?
Well, um, I guess they can't...but we like to pretend. We do this through the fanfics and fan art posted on the site. We are giving them that escape they need. Some are happy experiences while others end up with the death of a character. ::sweatdrop:: But not only can we "kill" them, we can also bring them back to life, so Zechs's personal life isn't stuck being non-yaoi or shounen ai with a ghost.

What does EFM stand for?
EFM stands for Escape from Martyrdom. It's me being lazy, basically.

Do you actually watch Gundam Wing?
Yes!!! I have seen Gundam Wing!!! I own every single GW DVD released in the 'States, so I have and saw every episode as well as Endless Waltz, OVA and movie version. I am familiar with the subtitled version as well as the dubbed version, so now I actually know what I'm talking about! ::dances::

Why do you use the R rating instead of NC-17 for a majority of the fics?
This is an interesting topic, actually. ::thinks:: Nah, I'm lying. It isn't interesting at all. Well, my reason is that I see the NC-17 rating redundant. NC-17, in movie terms, means that unless you're 17 or over, you have no reason to be watching this, whereas the R rating means that if you're under 17, you can't see the movie unless you're accompanied by an adult. That's movie terms. Now, this is the Internet. I can't stop you from clicking that little button that separates you from a lemon. If you read something and find it offensive, I gave a fair warning multiple times. I mentioned what was in the story that could be seen as objectionable and I said why it deserves the rating. I don't know if that answered any questions, but that's my reasoning.

What's with the math all over the site?
Here's a quick guide to the wonderful multiplication and addition of Gundam Wing.
1 = Heero Yuy
2 = Duo Maxwell
3 = Trowa Barton
4 = Quatre Raberba Winner
5 = Wufei Chang
6 = Zechs Merquis/Milliardo Peacecraft
9 = Lucrezia Noin
11 = Lady Une
13 = Treize Khushrenada
C = Catherine Bloom
D = Dorothy Catalonia
H = Hilde Schbeiker
M = Meiran Chang
R = Relena Darlian/Peacecraft
S = Sally Po
Okay...we'll use an example... There's 1+2 and 1x2. These mean Heero+Duo and HeeroxDuo. We'll start with addition. 1+2 can mean either that Heero is longing for Duo or he kisses Duo at any point in the fic. Comprendes? Now it gets a little more complicated. 1x2 means that it's a relationship that has sex incorporated somehow (rape, love, foreplay, intimate touching, whatever). Since the 1 is before the 2, Heero is the seme (or the guy on top) while Duo would be the uke (or the, uh, bottom dweller). Some authors use the multiplication in a more generic sense. Like even though Duo might be on top *sometimes*, 1x2 is easier to type than 1x2x1. 1+1 would be self-love and 1x1 would be masturbation. Now it all makes sense, right? ::crickets::
