People who have a limited intelligence STILL think that the US went to war with Saddam for the oil. Anti-American loonies forget that Saddam's bribed countries like France, Russia, China and Germany ALL voted for UN Resolution 1441 that stated that THEY ALL believed that Saddam still had WMD. Even terrorist-aiding Syria voted that Iraq had WMD!
REPEAT AFTER ME: "UN Resolution 1441 passed UNANIMOUSLY."
LET'S NOT FORGET: Putin told Bush months after 9/11: "Saddam planning attack in US..."
So for those of you fools who like to say that Bush lied, think about this: If he truly lied about Iraq having WMD, why didn't he just have 10 of the most trusted Navy Seals take some chemical weapons from the US and bury them in the desert, then have the UN find them? WHY would Bush risk his re-election by lying? The Greek MME is world famous for their conspiracy theories so this would be completely believable to the average Greek TV viewer.
No one can ever be sure if Saddam destroyed his WMD before the war. He may also have shipped them out to Syria or another terrorist nation. Or the ever deadly (and ever small) Biological weapons are in a sand dune somewhere in the middle of the Iraqi desert.
The fact that ONE SMALL VILE of biological agent can kill over 100,000 people makes you think that something that small could NEVER be found.
The possibility that he got rid of them himself after Hans Blix found the 8,000 liters of liquid anthrax in 1998 is plausible. With UN sanctions crippling his people (not him though), you would think that he would have INVITED the UN inspectors to monitor the destruction of his WMDs. This way, the US would have no way of blocking the lifting of sanctions. Maybe Saddam wanted to make his neighbors THINK he still had them so they would still fear him? If the secret destruction of his WMDs really occurred, it has to be one of the stupidest and worst bluffs and one of the biggest miscalculations since Hitler tried to take Russia.
At least one can see that TWENTY-SIX MILLION Iraqis are now free for the first time in over 3 decades. Once the Saddam holdovers, Sadre's lunatic fringe and foreign terrorists get under control by the new Iraqi forces (backed by the US led coalition) Iraq will finally show the promise of what ANOTHER democracy in the Middle-East can bring.
As for the Greek MME, they were all at their biased best for the Iraq war. For those of you living in Greece at the time of the Iraq war, ask yourself one question: How many Iraqis living in Greece did you see on television before the war? For the most part, we saw only two: The Iraqi Ambassador to Athens (a Saddam Stooge) and a (self-proclaimed) former bodyguard of Saddam (another Stooge). Aren't there anymore Iraq immigrants living in Greece? Aren't there any Iraqi-Kurds living in Greece? Why was the Greek MME so afraid to put on ONE of these people? Were they giving you, the Greek TV viewer a fair and balanced look at the Iraq situation? NO! As usual these morally dishonest so-called "reporters" gave you only one side... THEIR SIDE!
Why not put an Iraqi-Kurd on the air to talk about Saddam and his cousin, Chemical Ali gassing the village Halabja? Why not let them explain how Ali mixed TWO chemical weapons together to make sure they "got everybody" in the village? Because Greek MME is dishonest, twisted and lies.
As for the silly slogan "NO BLOOD FOR OIL":
EVEN IF the US took the oil for FREE, it would still cost more to process and ship it all the way to the US than it would to just import it from Venezuela, Mexico, Canada or any other South American country they import from.
I'll bet you didn't know that out of the top 36 nations that the US imports petroleum products from, there are only 3 Middle-Eastern/Arab nations! (Bet you'll never hear THAT in Greece either).
There are cases that US troops have stayed over in such foreign lands such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. These forces were there to keep those countries safe from lunatics like Saddam (because they had no armies to speak of). Now that the Butcher of Baghdad is in behind bars (like his soul-sister Milosevic), the US is removing ALL the troops from Saudi Arabia. Got it?
As anyone with at least a small brain can see: The US would like nothing better than to get the hell out of Iraq as quick as possible. The MANY UN Resolutions that authorized the removal of Saddam (like UNSCR 707 - UNSCR 687 - UNSCR 1441) have been exercised. Time for the Iraqi people to finally stand up and take control of the security of their own country and stop the crazy Sadres and Zarqauwies that have killed more Iraqis than any collateral damage of the initial war.... THEN the US will leave.
