The KLIK magazine lynching showed all in the Greek media a lesson that anyone who wants to report honestly better beware. With all their hypocritical "Freedom of the Press" calls for other countries (mainly the US-if you can believe that!), the Media here wants EVERYONE to toe the party line.
During the Kosovo War, KLIK printed the only truthful piece about the Genocide at the hands of the Serbs (as admitted later by the Serbs themselves!(1) (2) (3) ). ALL the Greek Media were against the war and spouting propaganda daily. The truth never saw the light of day. Then KLIK dared to go against the rest of the lying Media and paid dearly for it. They almost went bankrupt.
For those of you outside Greece, in the real world, you won't believe this: The rest of the Media attacked this single magazine for an article depicting what was THE TRUTH. This included some pictures of mass graves of the Ethnic Cleansing being propagated by Milosevic's murderers. As if showing photos of what was really going on was WRONG!
Proof beats propaganda every time.
Greek newspapers, magazines and ALL of the TV stations attacked KLIK magazine ruthlessly and relentlessly for weeks after this one and only HONEST report.
After beating KLIK into the ground, the magazine slinked off into the background but learned an important lesson:
Do not go against the Anti-American MME!
They paid dearly.
All this for telling the truth.
