Many types of hardware are required to implement BankCON: Personal computerThe performance of BankCON depends heavily on the performance of the personal computers. Therefore, the minimum requirements of the personal requirements are very high:
Smart cameraAs we mentioned earlier, smart camera is a very powerful tool in BankCON. It is voice driven and automatically choose the best view of the current speaker.
Video cardVideo card is used for display. It contains all the circuitry relating to the computer's ability to send a picture to the monitor. It usually is a separate card that fits into one of the motherboard's slots. Also the video card needs to be matched with the monitor. It is more desirable if it supports live-video acceleration and 3-D capabilities.
Video codecCODEC stands for Compressor/Decompressor. They are used with video capture cards to compress large video clips into a smaller more manageable size. It recommended that video is captured without compression, then compressed before distribution. It was designed to achieve a time-invariant compression ratio associated with an encoded video rate of 8.52 kbps. The codec's operation is initialized in the intra-frame mode, but once it switched to the inter-frame mode, any further mode switches are optional and only required if a drastic scene change occurs.
Digital microphonesTo develop this system I used the latest brand its call Telex M-560. It is the first USB digital microphone to enable speech recognition without a headset or soundcard. This innovative microphone provides high quality, direct digital input to your computer or software for the best results. Telex's exclusive Acoustic Directional Processing(TM) focuses reception on the user's voice and cancels background noise. And, because it's digital, it is easy to use. Just plug it in.
Gigabit Ethernet ControllerWe are using the Gigabit Ethernet for BankCON, so we need to add in the controller chip on the motherboard in order to make full use of the wide bandwitch. The controller implements the IEEE 802.3 Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) protocol. The controller exchanges data with an external memory Access (DMA) controller or switching fabric with a simple full-duplex handshaking protocol across the system interface. The controller is specified as either a net list or as a chip. |
