The
ABC's To A Relationship With God
Not everyone realizes that you don't have to be a preacher
or "Special" individual to have a relationship with God. Actually God's
plan of salvation is as simple as ABC.
All
persons need salvation. Each of us has a problem the Bible calls sin.
Sin is a refusal to acknowledge God's authority in our lives. Sin is what
seperates us from God and makes it impossible to have a right relationship
with Him.Since none of us are perfect, we are all sinners. Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." The result of
sin is spiritual death. This means eternal seperation from God. Romans
6:23 "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life
in Jesus Christ our Lord."
Because
God loves each of us He offers salvation. That is the way to have a right
relationship with Him. Altough we haven't done anything to deserve His
love and salvation, God still offers it to us. When Jesus died on the
cross, that was God's way of providing the payment that is required of
sin. He did that for you! God provided salvation for ANYONE who would
repent of their sins and believe in Jesus. John 3:16 "For God so loved
the world" (that means you) "that He gave his only begotten son, that
whoever would believe in Him will not perish, but have eternal life."
That's good news!!!
Come
to Jesus for this salvation! Romans 10:9 says, "if you confess with your
mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:13 says "Everyone
who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
No matter what you've done, no matter what you've become, God loves you
and invites you to have a relationship with Him that is real and personal.
You may be thinking right now, "Hey, for the first time I think I understand
this". That is God's way of calling out to you. Read this example prayer
below. If it says what you are feeling right now, pray it.
"Dear God, I know that I have sinned and need your forgiveness. I know
that Jesus is your son ,and that He died on the cross and was raised from
the dead. I am willing to turn from my sins and recieve Jesus as my savior
and Lord. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."
If you prayed that prayer and really meant it for the first time, Please
E-Mail us. We will send you information on what to do next, and give you
the name and adress of a church in your area. Welcome to God's family!
