    Mario's best buddy from the first Super Mario Bros. game, is Toad.
    Toad is a little boy, who wears a Mushroom hat on his head. He comes from the infamous Mushroom Kingdom. In most games Toad helps Mario out by giving him items or advice. Sometimes he's just there in the backround, not really doing much.
    It wasn't until Super Mario Bros. 2, that Toad was actually able to be picked and played as during the game. Since then, he has starred in such games as Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario RPG, and others.
    So far Toad hasn't recieved his own game yet, but he has starred in a couple of games and has made appearences in many others.
    Even though he isn't as well known as Mario, Luigi, or even Bowser, Toad still is a great character, and will probably forever star in Mario games. And who knows, maybe some day he will get his own game. 8-)
