THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME
RELEASED ON - NINTENDO 64 (N64), 1998
BACKROUND INFO
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, hailed as one of the greatest games ever created, finally burst onto the Nintendo 64 scene, in 1998. After numerous delays (it was originally scheduled to come out at the launch, or shortly after, of the N64), one of the greatest games ever, finally became a reality. And it sold phenomenally. Becoming one of the greatest selling games of all time (and the greatest pre-ordered game of all time), as it out-sold most high budget movies. Out performing the #1 film that month, which was A Bug's Life, by a comfortable margin. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time significantally boosted the N64's sales, in America, as well as Japan, selling more copies than any game ever. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the fifth game in the very popular Legend of Zelda series, and considered by many to be the greatest game ever released. It has huge worlds to explore, many items and weapons to collect, lots of characters to meet, and tons of stuff to do. Promising around 80 hours of game play, it's easy to see why this game is so great. Shigeru Myimoto, and the rest of the Nintendo crew, worked for around six years, in creating this game, the first fully 3-D Action RPG. And what a great game it was. The work they put in to the game truly showed. From the great graphics and excellent sound, to the breath-taking scenery and outstanding story. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will forever be remembered, as one of the greatest games ever crafted. Outstanding in nearly every way, revolutionary in more ways than one, from the great idea of Z-Targeting, to the auto-jump feature, this game used every trick the Nintendo 64 had up it's sleeve, to present a truly magnificent gaming experience. With some of the greatest gameplay the world had ever seen. Every Nintendo 64 owner should own this truly great game, it's a crime not to own one of Myimoto's greatest masterpiece ever, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
STORY
Here I will present the story in two ways. Read below, to see the version of the story from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Instruction Booklet. This story is shorter and kind of summerizes the story that's told in the game. Or click on the link below, to read the story exactly how it is told to you in the game. So go ahead, and CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY! (Ooops, wrong game. . . lol)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A LONG TIME AGO. . . Before life began, before the world had form, three golden goddesses descened upon the chaotic land of Hyrule. They were Din, the goddess of Power, Nayru, the goddess of Wisdom and Farore, the goddess of Courage. Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land to create the Earth. Nayru poured her wisdom onto the Earth to give the spirit of law to the world. Farore's rich soul created all life forms who would uphold the law. These three great goddesses returned to the heavens, leaving behind the golden sacred Triforce. Since then, the Triforce has become the basis for Hyrule's providence. Where the Triforce stood became sacred land. In the vast, deep forest of Hyrule, the Great Deku Tree served as the guardian spirit. The children of the forest, the Kokiri, lived with the Great Deku Tree. Each Kokiri had his or her own guardian fairy, except one. His name was Link. Early one morning, Link was having a nightmare. It was the same nightmare he had every night. During a storm, Link would find himself standing in front of a mysterious castle. A rider on horseback, carrying a girl, would race by. The girl would look at Link as if to say something. Then, another rider would appear. This big man clad in black would look down menacingly at Link. Link would then awaken. "Link! Hey, get up, Link! The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you!" As Link opened his eyes, he saw a fairy floating in front of him. This fairies name was Navi. Navi was sent to summon Link to the Great Deku Tree. "Oh Navi, thou hast returned!" said the Deku Tree. "Thank you, Link, for coming. Thy slumber these past moons must have been restless, and full of nightmares. A vile climate pervades this world. Verily, ye have felt it. The time has come to test thine courage. I have been cursed. I need you to dispel the curse with your wisdom and courage. Art thou prepared?" Link entered the Great Deku Tree and broke the curse. "Well done, Link! I knew that ye were worthy of carrying out my wishes. A wicked man of the desert cast this dreadful curse on me. Employing his vile, sorcerous energies, the evil one is searching for the Sacred Realm connected to Hyrule. For it is there that one will find the divine relic, the Triforce, that contains the essence of the gods. Whoever holds the Triforce can make their wishes come true. Thou must never allow the desert man to lay his hands on the sacred Triforce. Thou must never suffer that man to enter the Sacred Realm of legend. Link, go now to Hyrule Castle. There, ye will surely meet the princess of destiny. Present this stone to the princess. I have foreseen that she will understand everything." The Great Deku Tree gave Link the Spiritual Stone of the Forest. Before dying, the Deku Tree's last words were, "The future depends upon thee, Link. Thou art courageous."
THE OUTCOME
After collecting all three Spiritual Stones: the Kokiri's Emerald, the Goron's Ruby, and the Zora's Saphire, Link headed to the Temple of Time. There he stood in front of the alter and played the song of Time, thus opening the Door of Time. Once inside, Link stood in front of the Pedestal of Time, and pulled out the Master Sword, which teleported him seven years into the future. Unbeknownst to him, Ganondorf, the evil Gerudo King of Thieves, had followed him there, and as he opened the Door of Time and pulled out the Master Sword, Ganondorf had used his evil power to enter the Sacred Realm, which Link had just opened the portal to, and grabbed the Triforce, before Link could get to it. Once that happened, Link's spirit was sealed in the Temple of Light, located in the center of the Sacred Realm, for seven years. While Ganondorf grabbed the Triforce, he never knew that his virtues had to be balanced, thus the Triforce split into three pieces, and the other two Triforce pieces were given to two people chosen by destiny, who would bear the Triforce symbol on the backs of their hands. Only the Triforce piece that the person who toached it most believed in, remained in their hand. Thus Ganondorf was left with only the Triforce of Power. But by using it's awesome power, Ganondorf took over the land of Hyrule, and his dark reign of terror carried on for seven long years, until the Hero of Time would awaken, seven years later, after his spirit was sealed. Once Link awakened, Rauru, the Sage of Light, told Link that, in order to have enough power to overthrow the King of Evil, he would need the power of the other five sages. Thus Link set out to find the five temples: one inside a deep forest, one under a vast river, one at the top of a mountain, one inside the house of the dead, and one under a goddess of the sand. So Link set out on his great adventure to obtain the medallions of the five sages, which would contain their power. Saria, the Sage of the Forest, with the Forest Medallion, Darunia, the Sage of Fire, with the Fire Medallion, Princess Ruto, the Sage of Water, with the Water Medallion, Impa, the Sage of Shadow, with the Shadow Medallion, and Nabooru, the Sage of Spirit, with the Spirit Medallion. Once Link obtained all five Medallions he headed towards the Temple of Time, to see Shiek, the mysterious Sheikah who had helped him out since his spirit had awakened. Once there, Shiek revealed herself to be none other than the beautiful Princess Zelda. And she told Link about the Triforce and that the other two Triforce pieces were hidden inside two people chosen by destiny. The Triforce of Wisdom was held inside her, and the Triforce of Courage was held inside Link. Once Link learned of this, Ganondorf attacked the Temple of Time, and sealed Princess Zelda inside a dark crystal of sorcerous power. He then told Link that if he ever wanted to see Zelda again, he would have to hail to Ganon's Castle, to do battle with the Evil King himself. So Link headed to Ganon's Castle, and the six sages used their medallions power to create a Bridge of Light for Link to use to get across and inside Ganon's Castle. Once inside, Link had to dispell six barrior's, the Light, Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, and Spirit Barriors, to get into the heart of the evil castle. Once inside the center, Link destroyed the various enemies along the way, and headed up the long twiriling stairway, to face the King of Evil himself, Ganondorf. After a grueling match, Link remained victories, and he had saved Princess Zelda from her crystal prison, and Ganondorf fell to the ground. But by using all the rest of the dark energy he had, he tried to collapse the castle, in hoping that Link and Princess Zelda would get crushed in the debre. Luckily, they escaped the castle alive. But the battle wasn't over yet. Just when they thought it was all over, Ganondorf burst out of the debre, and turned into the evil, vile, hate-filled monster, Ganon. After another daring match, Link finally used the Master Sword, to deliver the final blow to Ganon, that would cripple him for good. Once that happened, Princess Zelda, the seventh sage, and the one destined to lead them all, held Ganon with her powerful light of peace, and called the other six sages. Who formed together to create a mighty portal that would suck Ganon in, and trap him in the void of the Sacred Realm for all eternity. Finally saving the land of Hyrule, and returning it to it's once peaceful state. After the great battle, all the races of the land, had a huge party, and Zelda played the Song of Time, to return Link back to his original 10-year-old child form. Once back to normal, he put the Master Sword back in the Pedestal of Time, and closed the Door of Time for good. As all peace returned to Hyrule. Link had saved the world once again. ~:-)
