SAILING 

Adventure Services offers the chance to come sailing on our 40 foot racing boat, the Bootlegger. She is a kevlar hulled, fractional rigged state of the art vessel designed by Bruce Farr, one the worlds leading sailboat designers. Custom built in New Zealand for an Admirals Cup race in the United Kingdom, she is now available here in the Gulf for half day, full day, overnight or longer charters. The Bootlegger requires eight people minimum to sail at her best, and their is plenty of work for those eight people. She sails with a full complement of 12 people. This is not a pleasure vessel, but a full blooded racing beauty designed to win. If you want to sail on the Love Barge, this is the wrong place. If you want to work hard and race with the wind, Bootlegger is the boat. Take a look at our picture gallery for some shots of the Bootlegger under sail. We have the largest racing handicap in the Gulf, and in order to win races, we have to sail Bootlegger at her very best. In our last race, a pursuit race (boats are started by their handicap), we left 1/2 hour after the last boat sailed. We won by two minutes. This is an excellent platform for team building, a constructive group holiday, teaching children about the sea and working together. We are currently looking for steady crew to race in the coming season, the highlight of which is the 350 nautical mile passage race from Dubai to Muscat. Two years ago Bootlegger took line honors in the race and this year we not only intend to repeat that but, God willing, do even better.

All sailing courses offer the same basic training package consisting of dockside instruction, instructors, water and soft drinks, and all necessary equipment. Full day or longer programs include meals.
