Miaka is the Suzaku No Miko (Priestess of Suzaku) and the main female character of Fushigi Yuugi (opposite Tamahome). After her and her best friend Yui get pulled into the book world of "The Universe of the Four Gods," they become mortal enemies. At the end, they're friends again, but not before they go through oodles of trials and tribulations. I must admit, at first I thought Miaka was completely idiotic - the only thing the girl could think about was food (with Tamahome right there, too!). But after the stabbing herself incident (w/evil mirror girl) and never becoming corrupted by her surroundings, etc., you gotta admire her cheerfulness, warmth, strength of character, loyalty, and determination. It's kind of unbelievable, now that I think about it, her ability to bounce back after trauma. There is one thing I don't get, though...why do practically all the seishis fall in love with her??!!!
