Feeding the Homeless

The newly remodeled kitchen at HEP is now serving 50-75 meals nightly to clients of our Emergency Housing Program. Thanks to the city of Clearwater Police Department for donating the facility, Pinellas County Community Foundation for the grant they awarded to fund the renovation, the Civitans who donated funds and time towards the effort, and countless others who contributed to this wonderful new facility.

We are grateful to receive donated food from organizations such as Tampa Bay Harvest, Divine Providence Food Bank, and Feast. Food for the program is also collected through local food drives conducted by postal carriers, schools, civic clubs, and individuals.

Volunteers deliver food from our pantry twice a week to the 130 clients residing in off-site housing, as these houses are equipped with full kitchen facilities.

Summer months are always very lean months at the shelter in terms of donations, and we are grateful to be able to maintain this service to our clients throughout the year.
