Barbara Green, the Administrator of Homeless Emergency Project, is a Director for the Florida State Coalition for the Homeless, and is active in organizing efforts to increase State and Federal funding for the homeless. She is also a member of the Pinellas County Coalition Homeless, which is made up of other local agencies working together to help to prevent homelessness and to combat the problems associated with it.

In addition to her involvement with The Florida State Coalition and The Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless, our Administrator is active on other various committees, working on the local level to address the needs of the homeless. Her involvement is extended to such organizations as the YMCA Management Board, Team Case Conference Committee, Clearwater Homeless Intervention Project, and The Pinellas County Shelter Director's Committee.

HEP believes in the importance of agency interaction and acknowledges the need for community collaboration. In 1997, HEP took 1,092 referrals from HELPLINE. We work with Community Service Foundation, Clearwater Housing Authority and Pinellas County Housing Authority, The City of Clearwater, Code Enforcement, to assist those who are displaced because of sub-standard housing situations. Other referrals are from The City of Clearwater Police Department and other local police agencies, county social service agencies, hospitals, churches, corporate entities, medical care providers, substance abuse programs, Social Security Administration, and The City of Clearwater Free Clinic, to name a few.
