The soft sound

is in the air

It's floats around

and through your hair

It's beauty is only

Known by those

Who give it home

And knows

I hear it in the

Trees and world

From all corners of

The earth unfirled

Only those who

Listen to it can

See see the world

As created by man

I wrote this poem for my boyfriend Ryan.

When tall trees with autumn leaves danced

And through the leaves fall faeries pranced

The streams were lined with pillars of fire

And the air was crisp like the song from a lyre

Animals prepared for winter and scurried about

One young maiden made the journey south

It had been a long journey from her home

And in this strange land she found herself alone

Each night she would sit and worry about

Why she had left her home with so much doubt

The world seemed so dreadful and dire

Without some one to guard and guide her

The maiden tried to hide her fear

She would not shiver nor shed a tear

She would take long, lonely walks by herself

In hopes of hiding from the world itself

Until she met a man whose heart was kind

And she could not push his thought from her mind

When their eyes met, he'd smile sweetly

And the maiden would return his smile discreetly

She could not escape his charm and allure

Although, of her emotions, she was still unsure

But because of his patience and understanding

It was not long before they began courting

The maiden felt as if she was in a dream

And though she tried she could not help but beam

They took long walks under the clear night sky

And the moon and stars watched from on high

And though the maiden had been quite wary

She was now happy that her life had turned merry

For months together did they stay

Each and every moment, and from day to day

Their romance was like a fairytale come true

And changed their lives, making them anew

And as time passed with the sun and moon above

The maiden found herself falling deeply in love

The seasons changed and the summer was coming

And in her head, thoughts of her love were drumming

But the maiden knew they would soon have to part

And she tried her best to hide it from her heart

She could not live her life without his presence

So to her love she made a promise

The maiden swore she'd wait for his return

And in her heart her love would burn

She would never let his memory fade

Nor would she ever let him be betrayed

And for him she would remain pure

No matter how long she would have to endure
