'Just the Ten of Us' is a spin-off series from Growing Pains, created by Steve Marshall, Dan Guntzelman and Mike Sullivan. All three also worked as Executive Producer on Growing Pains.

The center of the show is Coach Lubbock who worked as teacher at Dewey High School in New York. He played quite an important role in Carol (he introduced Bobby to her) and Mike Seaver's (Mike's acting) life. After it was clear that his contract there won't get renewed, Carol and Mike organized a protest against this, with the result that the Coach got fired immediately (see Growing Pains' two-parter 'How The West Was Won'). Although he has sent out lots of applications, he got only one positive answer: from the St. Augustine's Academy (an all-boys school) in Eureka, California.

So he moves with his pregnant wife Elizabeth and his seven kids (mostly daughters) from New York City to a little town in California ...
