Tendo is the head of the 
Tendo Anything Goes Martial Arts Dojo and the father of Kasumi,
Nabiki
and Akane.
His wife, whose name has not been revealed, died of natural causes years
before. He is an excellent martial artist as well, having trained
under Happosai
with Genma,
but he rarely fights battles. He planned the engagement between Ranma
and a Tendo girl with Genma, and often beats up Ranma over his actions
towards Akane. He also gets very emotional over situations concerning
his daughters.
