Interview with a
Puppeteer
David Poulton is a puppeteer who visited our school.
He started making up his own puppets when he was seven
and professionally when he was 18.
He showed us a real neat elephant mask out of paper.
Also he told us that we could make any object a puppet if we tried. He
did this with a mop and a ball .
Notice from the photos that he was dressed in black so he could be camouflaged
in with the stage colour.
The main characters are Mr Wop and Wally.
Improvisation -showing where he could make a puppet from
ordinary objects.
Then preformed a historic item, and a folktale,
"The Stone Soup"from France.
Each item can be used by teachers or children
within the classroom.
