People who get locked up sometimes while away some time drawing on
envelopes to contain letters to family and friends. The work of Lee
Campbell has been submitted to me, and serves as a good introduction
to the phenomenon known as "jail envelope art" or "jailbird art" or
"prison art", and is also relevant to the topic of "tattoo design",
since Mr. Campbell has also designed tattoos using similar themes.
Here are a few examples. Click on the little one to see the

This "peace logo" is more than 30 years old, but it may
- sadly - not be outdated ...depressing as it is to note, it seems
that we are back to the insanity of 'fighting for peace' - if the
people of the U.S. aren't careful, they are going to find themselves
bogged down in another Viet Nam - this time in Colombia, where the
U. S. seems bent on getting involved on the wrong side of things
again, supporting the drug -soaked government of Colombia against
those of its people who would like to clean up the place... Birds
of a feather flock together and support each other. Criminals who
have lied and bribed and corrupted their way into power in the U.S.
(those being fronted for by the current majority of the Senate and
House of Representatives) naturally want to support their
counterparts in other countries. The Reagan/Bush/CIA cocaine
enterprise will be disadvantaged if the Colombian government is
reformed. Are you ready to send your boy off to kill - and die - for
those swine? Better think about it... And this time, let's try to
think about it BEFORE it is years and thousands of lives too late...
HIGHLY recommended comics: Asterix the Gaul.
If you are a U.S. visitor, you may not be familiar with this series,
which is very popular in Europe. Asterix and his buddy Obelix are
Gauls, resisting (always successfully) the entire military might
of the Roman Empire. Created by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo in
1952, Asterix is now available in many languages throughout the
world; several films have also enjoyed great popularity (a big
video store might have them). Absolutely hilarious - each story
funnier than all the others. (Don't tell me that's impossible until
you've read some of them.) More information, ordering,
wallpapers, and even road directions to Parc Asterix outside Paris
are to be found at
