Issues to be addressed in this department:

Social injustice, Racism, Environment, Corruption, The Big Rich, Environment/ Ecology/ Global Warming/ biodiversity (loss of, that is), the poisoning of our homes and neighborhoods...

Poisoning our homes, neighborhoods, world... The Big Rich: The Enemy

One thing that saddens and infuriates me is Injustice. Okay, lots to chew on there. Social injustice; judicial injustice; economic injustice; class inequality and discrimination in its many ugly forms... ? I didn't say Racism ? Aha. If you didn't AUTOMATICALLY think "racism" as you read any of the above, then you probably need to read on even more than some others... the point being that if you don't KNOW for SURE that a great many of the victims of these various injustices are victims because of Race... then YOU are a victim - of the propaganda that says that this is a righteous, just world of "liberty and justice for all".

Which brings us rather neatly to another issue on my mind: Misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, manipulation, divide - and - conquer ... that is fed to the population of the U.S. (and many other nations) on the radio, in the newspapers and magazines, and (primarily) on Television. My page TV's Neverneverland has some discussion of the TV part of it. A good organization keeping an eye on the media: F.A.I.R. - Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting. They are the makers of "Counterspin".
- - - - - listen to Counterspin online at Webactive where you will also find the Pacifica Network News, Democracy Now!, Jim Hightower's comment of the day, and another daily commentary.

Listen to Critical Times live online every Friday at 1:05 PM US EST (GMT minus 5 hours): go to WMNF 88.5 FM, and when the page comes up, click on On Air. Critical issues such as racism and injustice, police brutality, unemployment, poverty, capitalism, and the like are discussed by Mabili, his guests and listeners who call in. If you miss the time, go to "Friday" and find Critical Times - you will see that the programs are archived for later listening. (Real Audio) ...other days of the week at that time you can listen to Talk of the Bay, Hosted by WMNF News Director Rob Lorei. Topics of local Tampa Bay interest, as well as national and international issues, are discussed in a format of live interviews and live listener call-in participation.
Note: even if you do catch Critical Times and Talk of the Bay live, visit the website anyway. You'll finds lots of interesting stuff and good music. And the Critical Times page has some very good links to all the topics mentioned, and more.

...and you can come here. Several pages of my commentaries (rants, if you will) are up already, and the whole website is updated every day. You can go forward to more issues now; or hit one of the links below.
