Listen online: Two very good progressive independent listener-supported radio stations that you can hear live online. WMNF is completely independent and along with an excellent mix of neglected music - Jazz, blues, reggae... - and local community affairs - carries Pacifica programs, notably (and highly recommended) 'Democracy Now!' and the Pacifica News. KPFA is 'owned' by Pacifica, i.e., while it is funded by its own listeners, its license is owned by the Pacifica Foundation. Like WMNF but more activist/ anti-establishment.
