Sisters, Nebt-Het and Aset, were often seen together. Nebt-Het helped Aset search for, find, and reconstruct her husband Asar after Nebt-Het's husband Set cut Him into 13 pieces and scattered him throughout Egypt. Nebt-Het also helped to guard the infant Heru from Set's minons. Set wished to cement His rule over the two lands by slaying the child before he could attain adult status and avenge His father, who by now had become the Ruler of Duat (Hall of Judgement and Justice).


Aset, a very powerful Goddess has a commanding presence, whether it be in a temple or while sitting and relaxing in the shade of a Sycamore tree. She is depicted with a throne upon her head, and at other times suckling the infant Heru. She is also depicted as a winged Goddess. Aset represents generation, and is called She of the Light. Some of Her epitaphs are: Mother of all that lives, Goddess of all that is, Star of Heaven and the Giver of Life.


Nebt-Het is called the "Elusive One" by many who seek Her. She is the Goddess of the "Dark Side" because Her greatest power is at the time of the New Moon. Go into the dark and call for Her, and if She is willing, you may just see Her. Nebt-Het represents dissolution. Some names this wonderous Goddess is called by are: Lady of Heaven, Lady of Life, Mistress of the Two Lands, Goddess of Death, which is not Eternal.


There are two subplanes of the Abyss. Solidification, which is governed by Aset, represents regeneration. And Dispersion, governed by Nebt-Het. You can be dissolved forever by this funerary Goddess Who stands behind Asar helping Him to make the judgement calls after the weighing of the heart.

These two halves make a whole!!!
