Angel's
Romantic Good Ideas

FOR THE DIARY WRITERS.

For those of yo who keep a diary or journal here is an idea.

Starting from the day you met your love, write or type from your diary every reference made to that person. Of course, you can judge just what you think is appropriate or not. There is no need to let them know what you think about their mother! This is a romantic gesture, not a quarrel starter.

If you have been together a very long time and therefore would have way too many entries to list, then just choose some special moments from each month.

Once you have your rough copy, choose some good quality parchment paper which is preferably coloured or marbled. Print, or have printed for you if you are not a PC owner, your romantic journal onto the paper. Make a cover page with a title, such as "Extract From The Diary Of......." Then add a paragraph explaining the contents of what they are about to read. For example, w hen I did this I wrote: -
"The following pages are taken from paragraphs in my diary ever since the day we met. I hope you find it interesting to read about the evolution of our relationship as I saw and felt it each day. This is only the beginning for us. There will be many more chapters to come." (Author's note: there weren't, but that's life!) You might like to paste a photo of yourself or of the two of you onto this cover page. Once you have completed this, make some holes in the top left hand corner of your romantic diary. Thread some satin ribbon through to secure all the pages together and tie in a bow.

All that is left to do is to present it to your sweetheart.

FOR THE LONG DISTANCE LOVES.
(This section is very close to my heart.)

"Snail mail." Appropriately named if the one you love happens to live or be in another state or even overseas. You do have an option, which is to send your correspondence by Express Post. However, it is my experience that this still only takes one to two days less than regular mail, but costs quite a lot more.

For something a little different and a variation to the old pen to paper type correspondence, is disk mail. For this you will need a computer with a sound recorder or better still, voice mail capability. (Oh, by the way, the person yo are sending it to will need to have computer as well!)

The idea is to record your letter and save it to a floppy disk. If you are like me and can't keep talking without pausing to think, then write yourself a script to follow. By this I don't mean necessarily to read from the paper word for word. Just have this script as a guide to remind yourself of things that you want to say. Sing songs, read poetry or funny stories. Not only will the person receiving the disk be hearing from you, they will actually be HEARING you!

Another variation of this, for those of you without computer technology, is to record your "letter" onto an ordinary audio tape. This also gives you the convenience of pausing the recording when you forget what you were going to say. (Or while you answer the phone!)
