Romantic Good Ideas
ON THE SUBJECT OF COMPUTERS
Computers are fabulous gadgets. And useful for so much more than study or work. Especially if you and the object of your desires have Internet access.
This gives you the ability to "talk" in text or in some cases voice, to your love even if they happen to be across the other side of the world. There are many programs available to facilitate person to person communication. Or there are always the chat rooms! The majority of these programs are free to download and to use.
Electronic mail. With e-mail you can write to your love and the message is delivered to their screen almost instantaneously. You can also send greeting cards. That's right. Greeting cards, virtual gifts, virtual flowers, virtual meals and virtual holidays are all readily available to send across the Internet. Again, most of these are free services. Many of these sites offer animated cards as well.
Why not set up a special home page on the Internet dedicated to the one you love? Show them (and the world) how much you love them by creating a web page in their honour.
A LETTER A DAY.....
This one may seem obvious, but I could not write about romantic gestures without including a section on love letters.
One of the hardest things to do is to sit down in front of a blank page and try to turn it into a love letter. Where do you start? There can be so many things you feel for this person and so many things you want to tell them, but finding the words to begin your letter is sometimes frustrating.
Let's start with the equipment. Select a fine quality paper and a good pen. Don't choose paper that is too fancy as it will detract from the content of the letter. ALWAYS write your love letter, never type it. (I can hear my darling husband mumbling about this one.) Your handwriting isn't what counts most here. It is the most personal of letter and should be treated as such.
Make sure to date your letter in full. Love letters become keepsakes and having the date on them preserves that special time in history.
Begin your letter with a statement of why you are writing. Write from your heart. If the one you adore is in your thoughts every waking moment, tell them. Express to them exactly what is on your mind and in your heart.
The body of the letter is where you can go into great detail about the depth and breadth of your love and passion for him/her. Share with them the reasons they are so special to you and your sweetest thoughts of them.
Close on a positive note. Tell them how much you are looking forward to being in their company again or to talking with them again.
Sing the letter using a simple valediction. Parting words such as, Ever yours, With undying love, Adieu my love, or simply - Love.
Some special touches to add that something extra to your letter.
Select a beautiful box, about the same size as the paper you have used for your letter. Remove the petals off some roses and line the bottom of the box with them. Place your letter page by page into the box, sprinkling more petals in between each page.
If you live with the person you are writing to, roll up the letter and place it in a bottle. Seal the top and float it in the bath. Note: just because you live with someone doesn't mean you can't write them a love letter!
Fold your letter and tie with a satin ribbon before placing in an envelope.
Use your favourite perfume, (make it your signiture scent) to remind your lover of your presence when he/she reads your letter.
Seal the envelope with a kiss using your reddest lipstick. (This one applies to the ladies only!)
Address your letter, fold it neatly, stamp it and mail it. If you are posting your love letter to a place of work, make sure you write "Personal" or "Confidential" on the envelope.
Place your stamp upside down. This is an old custom and means "I love you."
