Today is a full day of absolutely unique experiences

After Breakfast, you'll travel to Gafsa,
where you'll leave the 4x4 and climb aboard Le Lezard
Rouge (the Red Lizard). This scenic railroad will take you on a
two hour round-trip journey through the Pass of Selja, a narrow passageway
through the mountains. The French name for this passage is "Le Coup de Sabre",
or The Slash of the Sword. Upon returning to Gafsa and after lunch served in
Metlaoui you'll depart for the waterfall at Tamerza, stopping along the way to visit the mountain oasis of
Chebika.
You'll proceed to Mides, a village located on the border of Algeria

Lunch will be served in Metlaoui
you will continu to Tozeur and then you will Visit the Two Museums:
Dar Cherait Museum an extensive art collection in it and Museum of the Nature
You leave Tozeur and begin the 34-mile crossing of the forbiddingly
barren Chott el Jerid. When, thousands of years ago, the
Mediterranean flooded much of low-lying North Africa, the hinterland of Tunisia
was severely affected, and when the sea eventually retreated into the Gulf of
Gabes, it left a legacy of salt lakes, or chotts. Bright sunlight,
reflective salt crystals, and the flat surface as far as the eye can see will
create interesting images where the map tells us there is only desert. Your
destination, straight across the chott, is Douz.
You'll have dinner
and Overnight in Kebili or Douz
Fort des Autruches Hotel a 3* with its Thermic Swiming
Pool

After Breakfast, and
perhaps take a look around. Douz is considered to be "the door to the desert",
and thus is a major market place for the nomads of the Sahara, coming from the
outlying oases to sell their goods. On market days, Douz's maze of narrow
streets is almost impenetrable for all the souks and bartering crowds. Quite a
site to behold. Also, every December, for the entire month, Douz hosts the
Festival of the Desert. This year's activities are sure to be special. Once
again, exact details will be posted as soon as they become available.
After it you will
have 60 mn to chose you camel and discover with it the Dune
The Adventure will
continu, However, for those who can't
resist the urge to explore, Camp Pansea offers a wide range of activities,
ranging from balloon rides (which offer stunning aerial views of
the camp and surrounding desert) to Carting rides. Or
you can get to know more about the region in the camp's media library.
Interestingly, this is where many scenes from The English Patient were filmed, and the
library does have a copy of the film, as well as others (Casablanca, Star
Wars) that were shot in the Tunisian desert. And lastly, there is
always
the natural, warm, clear water which bubbles up
endlessly from the nearby underground spring.
Daytime/nighttime temperatures vary widely in the Sahara, especially in the
winter months, and this natural bath was a welcome, and soothing,
surprise.
After it departure to Khemaissa Relax Center,
