The Chico Mavericks Baseball
Club spent their Memorial Day weekend in Yountville competing in the
annual tournament. They started off the morning defeating Steve's
Hardware. In the second round the Mavs overcame the Napa Sheriffs.
In the championship game Chico ran past Winters with a 9-4
victory.

Mavs Inaugural Season Is Over, Second Has
Begun

Welcome to the
Chico Mavericks Baseball Club website. The first baseball season of
the new millennium has ended for the Mavs and the second has begun. It was the first season for the newly created Chico
Mavericks last Summer. Spearheaded
by a few Chico parents, the city of Chico and its surrounding areas now have a Joe
DiMaggio baseball club to support throughout the summers. There are 
players from surrounding cities such as: Chico, Oroville, Red Bluff,
Corning, Paradise, Gridley, and more. The team has practiced all through
the Winter months until the high school season began. The coaches
were impressed with how many players showed up to play on their weekends,
which suggests a promising program in the works.
