Shinsen Gumi
hajime saitou
udou jin'e

Udou Jin'e was one of the most ruthless and heartless assassins of the Bakumatsu and a former member of the Shinsen Gumi. He was eventually expelled from the Shinsen Gumi because of his blood thirsty ways and they attempted to execute him. It wasn't even a close match and Jin'e disposed of his former comrades quickly. He eventually made his way to the opposing Isshin Shishi forces and became one of their most prized assassins.

Jin'e uses a technique which uses fear to paralyze his opponents. As they are paralyzed Jin'e slices them apart and disappears into the darkness.

In his quest for blood Jin'e eventually crosses paths with Kenshin and they are forced into battle once again.

While attempting to assassinate a public official Jin'e is thwarted by Sanosuke and Kenshin and escapes while mocking Kenshin for his non killing ways. Jin'e refuses to fight anyone but the Hitokiri Battousai (Kenshin's name in the Bakumatsu)...

Kenshin wanders off to think and Kaoru runs after him because she thinks that he may leave for good. She finds him sitting by a river and hands him her favorite pretty ribbon. Kind of confused Kenshin asks why and she replies that he must promise to return it after Jin'e is defeated (hence stopping Kenshin from wandering away after the battle).

Jin'e comes from out of nowhere on a raft and grabs Kaoru... If the real Hitokiri Battousai does not show himself Kaoru will die. Kenshin is forced to chase after Jin'e and Kaoru and must face Jin'e's most lethal technique in which he hypnotizes himself to become a very strong and "unbeatable" opponent... This battle is where we see the first glimpse of the former Kenshin as the Hitokiri Battousai.

On a side note Kenshin returns Kaoru's ribbon but it is stained all over with his own blood O_o Kaoru's not too happy about it...
