Brief Description (physical
appearance & personality):
Larissa is tall and thin, with wavy auburn hair and clear green
eyes. She's hyperactive, outspoken, stubborn, and madly in love with Andy
Stonehelm.
History:
Larissa was born in a town on the fringes of Andor. She was an only
child, but made up for it with her best friend Kat. She was upset when Kat
suddenly pulled up her roots and moved to Tar Valon to train as a Warder.
Larissa wished her the best, but was peeved that Kat left her behind. Even
her long-time love Andy was preparing to leave as well, on some mysterious
journey he felt he couldn't fully explain even to Larissa.
One day, a Brown sister came to Larissa's school for a presentation. She noticed Larissa in passing, telling her that she could channel. The sister had wanted to escort Larissa to Tar Valon herself, but she had pressing matters to attend and didn't think Larissa would have enough time to travel with her until she returned to Tar Valon. So, Larissa made the way herself.
Of course, out of curiosity and boredom, Larissa deviated a little along the way. An eccentric old woman invited her in for a cup of tea and showed her something that imprinted itself on Larissa's memory. She left the house shaken, but able to channel balefire.
Upon reaching Tar Valon, she became quite possibly the most annoying novice in White Tower history. She had a block, but the Aes Sedai didn't even notice until she was about to be raised, as it turned out that Larissa could only channel when she was hyper, which she always was. She was raised to Accepted despite this fact, since the ceremony was already scheduled, and people with blocks had been raised before.
As an Accepted, Larissa came dangerously close to being kicked out of the White Tower for good. Part of it was due to the fact that Larissa did not have to be hyper to channel balefire--thanks to the old woman she met on her way to Tar Valon. Merely knowing how to channel balefire was almost considered treason, especially by one that hadn't even attained the shawl.
The Purples came and went, Kat with them, but Larissa hadn't been paying much attention and missed it all. It didn't help that a White Aes Sedai--who was certain that Larissa would choose White, hyperactivity or no--had kept her doing chores day and night until long after the Purples had gone into exile. Larissa, despite what they all thought, was far from stupid, and what the White did really pissed her off. She got herself kicked out soon after, and thanks to anonymous postcards from Kat, found her way to the Moiraine Damodred High School.
She became an Ayende of the Indigo Septa and bonded Kat as her Warder, insisting on the bonding ceremony that Kat thought was utterly useless. A bonding is a bonding, after all; who needed all the hype? But true to her aristocratic nature, Larissa refused to bond her without the ceremony.
On the journey from Tar Valon to New Manetheren, they happened upon Andy, whose crappy car (which he adored, nonetheless) had broken down on the side of the road. So the trio found itself back together.
Summary:
Larissa--who usually goes by Lissy--is always bubbling with some
emotion or another and running at ludicrous speed. Despite the fact she
can't cook worth beans, she volunteered to take over Kat's job as the
Purple Kitchen-lady since Kat became Head Warder. She spends most of her
time mooning around Andy and making Kat sick when she's not laboring over
a short story or annoying she rest of the Tower.
