Kahuna - A practitioner of Huna

Kamea - A "Magick Square" used in talismanic Magick to produce sigils.

Karma - Literally "action." It is the law of cause and effect, or getting back what you give out. An individual may require several incarnations to work out their karma.

Keter - Crown. The 1st Sephira on the Tree of Life. It is at the top of the middle pillar.

Kundalini - Literally "serpent power." The kundalini, or fire snake is described as sleeping coiled at the base of the spine. When this energy is liberated it uncoils and rises up through each of the chakras. When it reaches the crown chakra, new states of consciousness and illumination may be experienced.

Lammas - See Lughnasadh.

LBRP - The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.

Left-hand path - Defined by some as the path of "black Magick." Defined by others as the paths which stress doing and action over being and stillness. In Tantra it is used to mean Vama Marg, or lunar-feminine.

Ley-lines - Lines of Earth energy. It is thought that these lines connect nearly all monolithic sites. Some of the more important sites such as Stonehenge and Avebury are said to be built above a conjunction or node of these lines. Ley-lines are also sometimes referred to as "dragon tracks."

Libation - Liquid, typically water or wine, which is poured on an altar, on the ground, or on a sacred fire as an offering.

Literal Qabalah - Techniques of the altering of words, consisting of gematria, notariqon, and temurah.

Loas - Deities in the religion of Voudou.

Low Magick - A term sometimes used to refer to folk, natural, or practical Magick, as opposed to Ceremonial Magick.

Lower Astral - A common term for the planes nearest the material world. The Lower Astral is considered by many to be the realm of ghosts, phantasms, and poltergeist phenomena.

Lower Spirits - A general term encompassing Elementals, lesser devas, fairies, imps, nature spirits, and assorted similar inhabitants of the "Lower Planes."

Lustration - A ritual purification using water.

Mabon - The Autumn Equinox.

Mage - A practitioner of Magick, whether male or female. Typically used as a generic term referring to a Ceremonial Magician.

Magick - As defined by Aleister Crowley "Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will." (Magick Without Tears, pg. 27, p.4)

Magick Square - An arrangement of numbers in a square such that each row, column, and diagonal adds up to the same sum.

Mahlkoot - Kingdom. The 10th and last Sephira on the Tree of Life. It is at the bottom of the central pillar.

Maiden - In Wicca this term is frequently used to refer to the first aspect of the Triple Goddess. Also used in reference to the waxing moon. In some traditions, the Assistant High Priestess of the coven.

Mantic Arts - Divination in its various forms.

Mantra -A sound or word connected with a force or concept, meant to attune the chanter to the energy inherent in the mantra through constant repetition. Probably the best known mantra is the Sanskrit word "Om."

Meditation - The act of quieting the small voice of the conscious so that you can commune with your Higher Self and the universe.

Mother - In Wicca this term may refer to either the second aspect of the Triple Goddess, or the full moon.

Mystery - A religious truth that one can know only by revelation and cannot fully understand.
