Necromancy - Any form of Magick performed in connection with the body or spirit of someone who is dead.
Neo-Paganism - The practice of modern-day paganism. Most neo-pagans practice some form of Nature/Goddess worship and/or Magick.
Netzach - Victory. The 7th Sephira on the Tree of Life.
Notariqon - A Qabalistic technique for deriving meaning by viewing words as acronyms of phrases and vice-versa.
Numerology - The "use of numbers to interpret a person's character or to divine the future. The theory behind numerology is based on the Pythagorean idea that all things can be expressed in numerical terms because they are ultimately reducible to numbers." - from Encyclopedia Brittanica
Occult - From the Latin occuiere, "to cover up." Hidden or secret.
Occultism - The study of the occult sciences.
Old Religion, The - A term used by some to refer to non-Wiccan Witchcraft. A somewhat problematic generality, as there are many "Old Religions," as well as many forms of witchcraft from various cultures.
Ostara - See the Spring Equinox
Pagan - From Latin pagus, " local district, especially as seen as inhabited by a particular tribe." It is the religion appropriate to the natural and social environment of the worshiper. Many Pagans see Paganism as being "earth-based."
Pantheon - The arrangement or hierarchy of deities and spirits within a particular system.
Pathworking - Astral Projecting through the Tree of Life in order to meet and communicate with non-physical spiritual entities.
Pentacle - May refer to a disc inscribed with a pentagram used ritually as the tool of elemental Earth, or to one of the four suits of the Minor Arcana of the Tarot.
Pentagram - A five-pointed star. An upright pentagram (one point up) is frequently used as a symbol of the four material Elements governed by the fifth, Akasha or Spirit. An inverted (as it is often erroneously called; it is actually averse) pentagram (one point down) is frequently used as a symbol of the four material Elements governing Akasha. The inverted pentagram also represents a degree of initiation in some traditions.
Philosopher's Stone - An Alchemical term. "The Prima Materia. The Powder of Projection. The First Substance from which all other metals derived. Supposedly the Philosopher's Stone could be used to transmute base metals gold or silver, cure disease, and prolong life. It is associated with the Elixir of Life. The Philosopher's Stone is often used as a symbol of illumination." - from The Magician's Companion

1 : a potion, drug, or charm held to have the power to arouse sexual passion
2 : a potion credited with magical power
Pictograph - A symbol conveying one or more concepts as a pictorial glyph.
Plane - A place where all manifestations are harmonious with the underlying concept, quality, or force. Since according to a Magickal world view a person is always in the "here and now," the concept of multiple planes is a construct of convenience.
Polytheism - The belief in or worship of more than one divine entity.
Poppet - A small doll made of various substances used to represent a person in sympathetic Magick operations.
Potion - An herbal tea or brew.
Power Animal - A personification of Magickal or personal power which manifests in the form of a real or mythical creature during a shaman's spirit journey.
Powwow - Pennsylvania Dutch folk Magick.
Practical Magick - See Low Magick.
Practical Qabalah - Techniques of Talismanic and Ceremonial Magick.
Prana - A term referring to the energy in the air we breathe.
Qabalah - A mystical system which has been absorbed into many Western traditions. Typically divided into four sections: The Practical Qabalah, Literal Qabalah, Unwritten Qabalah, and Dogmatic Qabalah.
Qlippoth - Literally "shells." A negative reflection of the Sephiroth, representing progressive degeneration, entropy, and disintegration.
Reincarnation - The repeated birth of the same soul in different physical bodies. A common concept of spiritual evolution within many religions.
Right-hand Path - Defined by some as the path of "white Magick." Defined by others as the paths which stress being and stillness over doing and action. In Tantra it is used to mean Dakshina Marg, or solar-masculine.
Ritual - In Magick, a planned series of events, characterized by symbolic attire and formalized behavior, leading to the accomplishment of a specific goal.
Ritual Magick - See High Magick.
Runes - Several different but related alphabets. Individual characters from these alphabets are frequently inscribed or painted on stones and used for divination and Magick.
